Wind infused dragons like the carmine dragon from elspeth
Do these exist outside of her lore? Like dragons born in relation to specific winds like metal, life, shadow?

Curious because I'm wondering if in the future they add generic empire wizard lords they could also give them dragon mounts like elspeth or would that be too powerful?

theoretically yes, but outside of malakith using dark magic to change dragons i have never heard of elemental wind dragons.
But it should be possible since all it would need is an egg immersed in extreme concentrations of that magical wind. Would still be extremely rare though.

According to the carmine dragon wiki page that is sourced from the monsters arcanum book while rare apparently Elspeth isn't the only human Amythist mage to have ridden one.

"rarity" doesn't seem to count much for the game, unless they state that something is specifically unique and only exists on its own I say its justifiable, for example in the lore there are only 8 remain working yet we have master engineers who can have them as mounts and a whole new type equipped with a volly gun.

The Cathayan dragons are all elemental infused, iirc.

Pretty sure the only ones they've mentioned are Carmine Dragons. No other dragon species GW has listed has ever been like that.

The only other thing that comes anything close to that are Doomfire Dragons and the thing with them is they "are capable of casting spells drawn from the Wind of Aqshy". There are similar dragons that are capable of using of magic from certain Lores such Great Storm Dragons and Ice Dragons that use the Lores of Heavens and Light respectively, but that's the closet you are going to get I'm afraid.

Still that seems like enough reason to give out dragon mounts for say empire master wizard lords, you could balance it by making the dragons themselves weaker compared to the high elf wizards.
