Yep, it's not great. It's more like a "fun" thing than something really useful.

It can be good if you get it very early but when you usually obtain it you already have several armies. Having only a single army get stronger is meaningless with so many downsides... It depends on the faction though, the crown gives some good faction wide bonuses but it's still debatable if it's worth it.

That is a level of angry rage that usually means a campaign as the Everqueen as a therapy session afterwards.

I dont understand, my Averlorn Campaigns conquer everyting that is not Asur??

Well I tried the Nem Crown. It's actually pretty strong when you first get it, because the diplo penalty isn't too bad.
But that phase only lasts 4-6 turns before the crown "levels up" and the penalties become too severe.
So yeah, overall it's not worth the hassle of obtaining it, because it's only useful for a few turns. Really poorly designed/implemented. Hopefully mods can fix it.

I was so excited when I saw Elspeth wearing it in my Tamurkhan campaign.

When I won the battle and saw the plus and minus I was stocked. Keeping it was not an option, in fact the map wide replenishment was far better.

Sword of Khaine is much better, stronger and the minus are much more balanced making it difficult to choose keeping it or not.

Dwarfs upcoming rebalance with grudge meter is a good opportunity to fix this as well.

In my Elspeth campaign it was great. The bonuses to diplomacy really make confederation a breeze, and the empire diplomacy techs help outweigh the negatives pretty substantially, and getting some treaties going helps cover the rest. Everyone else was going to hate you anyway so I don't really care if I have -60 diplomacy with the dark elves or beastmen or skaven. Even with the -100 penalty I was still sitting well over 200 diplomacy with the dwarfs and hovering in the mid-60s with the high elves, and the free +150 to empire factions meant I could confederate the Cult of Sigmar 2 turns after resurrecting the faction.

Oh and Elspeth was absolutely unstoppable with that thing. The bombardment is like a 2 minute cooldown Doomrocket, and the Mortis Engine effect is absurdly strong.

Granted, that's just for the Empire, it's probably notably worse for other factions.

Use and pawn it off you're not supposed to keep it

I never really saw it as a perma-buff like the Sword of Khaine. In my last Karl campaign, Kemmler pushed over, and took Marienburg. Crown spawned next to Altdorf, so I grabbed it, then over the next 10 turns, I used its power to clear Kemmler out of the Empire's lands completely.

Gave it up after I was done, and used the replenishment to restock my armies on the go over to Norsca.

You can always release it. If you are militarily allied to your neighbourhood the diplomacy penalties don't really matter. I had playing the nurgle host but gave it up eventually because my neighbooring chaos factions were disbanding our treaties. Its okay for a while.
