Then they need to learn how to make pathfinding, how to make update off less than 50 giga when they just "fix" 4-5 bugs.
Last but no the least, they need to learn how to communicate with their community and to make dlc with more value than a mod make by a solo fan in few months.
If they do at least all of that, they can make a game with any ip/historical games we don't care they will sell well !
This game engine is dying for a Star Wars world scape. All the units, lords and hero's are there boi
IF they don't account for, change and get on top of certain of issues that have vexed an ideal progression and outcome for both the game this forum is for, it's predecessor and any others released alongside. As we can see with this one in particular, insufficient prep beforehand has seen issues arise, half of which unsurprising to anybody taking notice. And even if many current are fixed before this run is over, it'll still have some outlying. Some things you just can't fix when any issues are integral to the design vs vision vs outcome.
Even then, as big a project as Warhammer into Total War was, as impossible as even CA's own mission statement might have seemed before the flawed proof we have... I cannot see even a passable stab at 40K being easy going. Too little and it may as well be any of a bunch of 40K games. Too much without adequate prep and it's a broken game. To do that IP the justice it truly deserves and make it not just another one of many 40K games is going to take 10x the everything that the Warhammer series is. This should be one to challenge everything CA are and have... but the CA of rn isn't the CA that made past prodigies look easy and with panache.
If they paid attention to all this ^^^ gosh, I'd even preorder. *Shockhorror*
And if they dont do naval battles now you can be very sure they really wont do space battles at all.
I do not want a classical Total War for a 40K-game, I just dont. If they do that I am going to be very dissapointed. If they actually doing that I either want Supreme Commander with its massive scale or Ground Control/World in Conflict with a similar call-in system for troops (steel division with pre-made unit-decks can also work but less a fan of that), then we can talk.
But in any case either we are going to be limited to 1 map per planet, with very barebone mechanics in space between, or it is going to be set on a single planet. Both scenarios are bad imo.
Right now we are talking... going full scale 40k Epic.... even Star Wars Empire at War got this to a good extent. It has to be on that scale.
