New Dwarf Lord Malakai Tips I need em!
So I usually play very hard/normal and I dont usually struggle to bad, often i find my self exceeding 150 turns and getting bored and starting a new campaign. I am getting overrun with Malakais IE campagin and was wondering if anyones had some good success and had tips. Just find I am often getting 3-4 wars on 2-3 fronts. I usually push towards Wulfrik and deal with him and throgg first, and then after that it seems like I am bombarded by assault after assaults.

Thanks in advance!

Malakai has a strategically challenging campaign so dont invest anything into areas you conquer from wulfrik or throg until you know you can hold it. Sack and occupy and if/when they recapture a settlment its just more grudges for you so its kinda win-win.
Tactically, get grapeshot on cannons and use the Spirit of grugni summon.

Imo, and this is what worked best for me before I got bored. Go east first. Get your first province, get a second army to hold it, and take care of the chaos dwarves to your east and clan moulder. Kill clan moulder first. From there it will be annoying if boris is dead, which he probably will be, but you will have to deal with archaon afterwards. You will probably have the money at this point to have enough armies to go west, but kostaltyn will take care of the norscans for you.

For me it was a bit different, most of the norscans ignored me, so I sacrificed a couple towns to chaos invaders to go and punch out throt, then retook those towns, and then malakai jumped over and started sacking the chaos wastes. My 2nd army defended and consolidated, and dealt with whoever was invading me next.

i used engineer heros and thanes for block/assault army's quite a bit, that was crucial.

those grapeshot cannons are totally OP, and need to be nerfed, enjoy them while you can. (if they nerfed chorf flame cannons for being too strong theres no way theyre gonna let these things continue to obliterate 3 units with every volley)
1 build tool shops first. You can always worry about growth later and getting 1 population will happen fast then you can worry about barley fields.

2 Take out Throt and Azazel as soon as they finish annihilating northern kislev, this way you can take over all the habitable frozen climate and keep katarin around. I know everyone says to take them out asap but I say the land is too good to pass up.

3 Make more armies as soon as possible from Malakai, build the spirit of grungni up with the gunshop to make canons. Always recruit Daemonslayers because malakai has a faction wide skill that gives everyone 10% cheaper slayers, daemon slayers have their own personal skill that does 10% as well, add on slayer ward followers with 20% cheaper slayers for each lord which you should get a lot of i'm not sure but I think just fighting battles with multiple slayer units should cause them to appear.

4 Try your best to keep Boris alive he is the only one friendly north of you and is very useful for clearing out the wastes. I let him and and because of that I had to play wack a mole with various minor chaos factions taking over and running to the next ruin as I hunted them down.

Awesome thank you guys for your tips seems like a big common piece is for me to ignore the norscans which I will definitely give a shot too next!

I'm down to join you in a coop campaign too if you want. I can play as boris to control your north.

I wouldn't ignore norsca, the place is all frozen now which means all the land is good, and there are a ton of trade resources, the place is a figurative gold mine.

I think clearing out the chaos wastes and giving them all to Boris was a huge help to be able to not worry about my northern border.

You don't want to ignore it necessarily, but you don't want to go for it early on. Its too hard to hold onto.

I suppose your probably right, I just was able to conquer it all with malakai and one other lord before epidemius and Astrogoth declared war on me but perhaps I was lucky.

And yeah keeping boris alive and fighting is very useful in securing the wastes, when I had to do it myself I was running around playing whack a mole with various small chaos factions who kept trying to populate it.

In may campaign a dealt with Throgg and Clan Moulder.
Specially Moulder almost whiped out Kislev on turn like 8?
Norca peaced out with me and was pummeled by Constaltine. so I did not really go there much.
But I had to clear whole Chaos wastes East to West + Naggarond personally.
They would not leave me alone, Daniel, Archeon, Malus, Hellebron, Malekith, Tamurkan had to kill them all.
Early it was bit stressful, but really quickly I had army none of them could deal with, I even could send Malakai do his quests and was dealing with many of them with my 2nd and 3rd army.
Also Spirit of Grugni / thunderbarge is kinda unbeatable by Chaos factions, maybe DE can kill it but not Norscans or Deamons.
Grape shot cannons are also an honorable mention, the delete stuff instantly.

For me Azazel wiped out kostaltin and thrott almost wiped out katarin, I swooped in after and took all the frozen land away from them :)

And yeah grape shot + the free thunder barges from the quest line are massive.

I think I wiped out thrott by turn 4-5 and because of that kostaltyn took out azazel. I sold the land back to kislev to fuel my initial province and marched east. It wasn't valuable to me cause I didn't have the full province anyways.

Yeah me too. I had to take our Azazel myself but after that I sold it to kostaltyn and he dealt with the rest of Norsxa for me.

If you don't want to get gimped by the new dwarf grudge system then you have to go fight the chaos dwarfs or the orks to the south.
Keep your three settlements, don't expand, except the hell pit maybe. You can then use a single army to jump between the three in underway stance to fend off attacks.
If you do expand any other direction other than south/southeast then the grudge system will gimp you because none of the settlements in any other direction near you are considered dwarf holds.
