Sigh... Time to UNINSTALL and REDOWNLOAD THE WHOLE GAME AGAIN

Every time there's a small patch this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ poorly designed game cries "Not enough disk space!" even though I am staring at 80 GB of free space on the drive where it's installed. Now I have to uninstall and download 120 GB again for the "patch" to "apply." And the "update" is 800 MB!!!!

FIX YOUR PATCHING SYSTEM !!!!!

EDIT: 2 weeks later the same thing all over again! Another 824 MB patch today. 80 GB free? "Not Enough Space Hurr Durr"

Meanwhile Conan: Exiles is currently applying a 4 GB patch with 45 GB free space on that drive. :') Conan: Exiles was the same. But those developers FIXED IT!

If mods wouldnt have deleted the other post where i explained how the update / patching works people could google or atleast read this prior to make more threads.

Hint mods , dont delete unnecessary much people cant google stuff anymore because everyone deletes everything ! i learned to not put any energy in trying to make any usefull comments here anymore cause mods just delete the entire thread for some reason.

Since I also have an old rig with limited space; my solution for OP: just delete one big file at a time till it downloads - today I had only to delete about 15 GB to get 100 GB free and now its loading... Still faster than to reload all 120 GB

You're not redownloading every part of the game so it's not a matter of delta updating or not.
The problem is that you can't just download the 800 MB of the update and plop them down on the game folder.

It's a bit ridiculous isn't it... I clearly have enough room for a very small patch to be installed yet I need to uninstall the game and reinstall it because the devs can't do patches correctly.

Steam patches, not devs, If you want to look for CAs fault in this, it's that their file system involves large container files that cause this issue when steam patches in the manner that it does.

I have that every now and then with larger games like this one. Sometimes it seems to be shuffling things more cleverly, other times it basically demands at least half the game's size in free space.
There's gotta be a better way to package these game files.
