I prefer artillery that is effective, have range, are hitting the ones they should without having to micromanage them every second, so they don't destroy my infantry.
Try skirmish battle against AI with various artilery , and against various enemies on various map

Same. Magma cannons are very solid for the entire game, and they might be the to-go pick for AL, period, but before one gets the dreadquake mortar, they might also be the best option for AI, or at least close enough to it to just go full magma cannons for their versatility. No need to comment on the mortar, they are just awesome as well as strong.
Dreadquakes have absolutely insane damage potential, but can be easy to avoid by AI. Magma cannons are easier to use, they leave aoe that sucks enemies inside and damage them for a while.
Hellcannons... their projectile home in, very ammo efictive, will destroy whatever you want to be destroyed 100%.
Magma is a strong anti inf. piece.
Dreadquake is too unreliable and ends up shooting your own troops at times, terrible that you cant aim em better.
Hellcannon are very subpar outshined by the first 2 depending on what you want to die.
It is more like a regular cannon, really, but with magma, which makes is more sick, and also just better.
