At game release it was quite common (and absurd) for factions to literally march half way across the continent, forsake any closer threats and wars, specially to attack the player as often as possible.
They toned this down with the Chaos Dwarfs DLC and have made further tweaks since then to make it behave more rationally. That's why you don't really hear to much about it these days.
AI do not receive and nerfs or buffs if they are allied to the player. AFAIK that myth has been debunked for a long time.
Well I have never seen Noculus and the Scourge faction dominate so easily, Im 100% convinced the game forces all your allies to be utterly useless.
Me neither.
Does it happen without the mod?
i'm playing an oxyotl campaign, and due to his campaign mechanics you discover a ton of factions across the map really early on
9/10 factions across the world consider me their "main threat" it's ridiculous
I had other mods on, HE sister units and quality of life, better AI but that should apply for HE races too. They got utterly stomped
I'd try it with all the ai and overhaul mods off on a new campaign. Those mods sound like they can mess with a lot of variables.
If a bordering AI is not at war with anyone, have no treaties with you and you are around neutral or negative relations;
THEY WILL ALWAYS TARGET YOU FIRST.
This is a fact and always happens.
You can use this to your advantage. You can manipulate diplomacy for some factions to negate this.
However sometimes its just not possible. For example if you are playing kislev Azhag and Drycha will 100% declare war on you once they wipe out their initial enemies.
They tend to not declare war when they are already at war with another bordering faction, however the moment they are done with their initial enemy, YOU ARE NEXT. Player always a priority when AI declares war. And for some reason AI actually avoids declaring war on other AI as much as they can even if they have negative 200 relations.
Most times i have to drag order factions by force to actually fight their bordering chaos factions.
The problems are also there in TW:2, but far far from this bad.
This isn’t even people I’m allied with, I never ever make military alliances. Just trade.
Play as ANY order race and everyone else order will die, it’s why I’m desperate for coop.
I did a random start location game, grimgor and white dwarf were in Reikland. I was in badlands as another Dawi faction.
89 turns in, grimgor and white dwarf were not at war
The allies become worthless thing is a debunked myth by modders.
I don’t believe that for a second. I firmly believe the game will handicap any and all factions on Order if you play as Order
