I got it pretty easily as Yuan Bo. Lotsa trade income that leads to more trade income. Just build the cities right, and once by the time you control all of Cathay, you should be rolling in the dough.

The Changeling.

Send your cultists to safe money making places and build the % income building and the spread building.

Zhar-Naggurnd should be the *first* place you send one of your first cultists. It's already at tier 5 and makes bank from turn 1.

Other good places:
Lothern
Marienburg/Altdorf
All Wood Elf forests.
Naggaroth
Sylvania.

You will be making so much money by mid-game it's hilarious.

Nothing too hard, just choose mostly Econ buildings for most provinces, build resource building whenever you’re able, and then choose the minor Econ building that boosts trade income. Make province capitals with trade resources trade districts through the special ability things as you play along. Get trade agreements whenever possible.

By the time I was in the end game, I had something like 10 or 11 armies (albeit mostly mid or low-tier troops) and was still generating something like 100k per turn, so it feels like it’d be pretty organic and should happen as you play along (assuming you wanna play that long).

Each of these can make it happen *relatively* easy:

Yuan Bo, Thorgrim, any of the Ulthuan-located Elves (Tyrion, Alarielle, Eltharion), Ikit Claw, Throt, Lokhir, any Chaos Dwarf, any Bretonnia faction.

Of course, literally ANY faction can do it eventually, it's just a matter of how long it takes to get there and IMO these are some of the fastest.

Vampire coast (probably Noctillus). Just establish a cove in every port city in Immortal Empires.

High Elves with their lords increasing their trade value and other shenanigangs with heroes buffing money gain.

Lizardmen are also good. Their income building generate a ton of money by default.

Last I played that race there was timer on those ports and they don't generate that much. The amount of turns and money you need is going to just take far too long.

Maybe they've fixed it but there used to be a way that you could spam infinite heroes to spread coves.

Any of the factions that has trade

Any faction that has actual income will get you there. The longer your campaign goes, the closer you will get there.

Really, unless you stop at like turn 80, you'd get it easily.

Definitely Cathay.

The Cathay homeland is so easy to secure and plug up with relatively few armies. Gets a ton of tradable resources, trade contacts across half the world through caravans, bonus to trade value from their black eco buildings.

Balanced harmony gives -25% upkeep to already cheap armies, the bastions have this building for even more local upkeep reduction bringing it close to 0.

Cathay I would say.

Its definitely not vampire coast. Their city based economy is the worst in the game by a wide margin, and their pirate coves still generate less gold than just taking the city yourself on a faction that doesn't have a garbage economy. Maybe I'm just missing something cause I don't play them much, but their economy genuinely seems less than half as good as the next worst.

I'll throw in my answer. Its greenskins. Economy snowballs, and nobody snowballs like greenskins. They've got average raw city economy, but their buildings are cheap, their armies are strong, waagh gives them more units, and their post battle loot is game breaking strong (seriously, its so powerful your armies literally just pay for themselves, I genuinely mean it when I say it is game breaking). So all you do on greenskins is just mass recruit, get like 10 stacks, and go conquer in every single direction. You can hit 60k income by like turn 50-60 just cause you can have so many settlements.

Other than that, probably like Cathay or Lothern or something. They will absolutely make less money than greenskins in total, but trade is obviously part of income per turn. So they'll have 60k income on around the same settlement count where greenskins would have 45k or so. I just think greenskins are so broken they can expand 50% faster than lothern/cathay. They also both have really safe start positions, which doesn't help with speed in getting a strong economy going, but it does help with ease of use.
