someone probably just made up some details around stuff that everyone on the forums always wants to see
First: I agree. They would not do that much Cathay in a row. Or at least I think they would'nt
Second: We're still missing DLCs for Khorne and Slaanesh.
Sure an Slaanesh FLC is mentioned. But I don't think they would just ignore those two factions, when there's three DLCs "leaked".
Especially since the Khornate Fans are already pawing with their hooves.
Even if we give credit to the rumors that CA is trying to break into China's market, that would singlehandednly SINK the rest of the global market, mostly because Cathay isn't that high on people's wishlist!
I find it believable if WH3 is popular in china they are chasing china money
That would be the final nail for the coffin. Even CA can't be that dumb. Also only making DLCs for Tzeentch and Nurgle, but not for Khorne and Slaanesh (so keeping them in that bad state) would be the next outrageous dilemma.
The new units for Ogres and Tigermen as subfaction units sound horrible. Also updates for Norsca, TK, Coast, Greenskins and Vampire Counts are very very much needed.
The leaks (besides DoW) are very disappointing so far.
DOW I absolutely believe though.
Considering the collapse of Three Kingdoms, using Cathay to try for Chinese money again makes a horrible sort of sense.
Even if that was the case, said 9 units would be the most basic of basic!
Even other hybrid factions have unique units beside the added extra ones!
Tamurkan, for example, may have access to some Norsca units as well as Beastmen and Chorfs, but the base Roster is still solid and able to stand on it's own.
DoW has maybe two unique base units, the rest is pretty basic.
Agreed, it hasn't worked before, why should it work now?
Is China THAT interested into TW : W3 that their sales ALONE would justify such drastic change?
I highly doubt it, but if that was the case, hope they sell so much that we'll get even more content.
well, there's the Celestial Lion which is a 'purified chaos creature' lore-wise, purified beastmen wouldn't be out of place, but that's beside the point!
also for DoW...the leaks are extremely accurate to their lore and units, which frightens me as i fear they'll end up as the "Norsca" of the Ordertide.
9 extremely basic units, one general and two heroes aren't a solid base to build a mercenary faction. Even other hybrid LLs have a more strong basic roster.
Unless they are planning what they did with Elspeth and the Dwarfs, granting special units based on existing ones (Amethyst Militia and Grudge Settlers) , then that could be an acceptable compromise.
Provided we also get to recruit from other factions without Military Alliances.
Also, we'd straight up need more Generic Lords and Heroes, at least two types to begin with and a third hero type.
I'm reminded of a story. Years ago, before Covid, World Wrestling Entertainment discovered they had a lot of fans in India. There's over a billion people there, it's a gold mine! So the India push began. They took a complete loser of Indian heritage and suddenly made him world champion. They did shows in India, Indian themed matches and all sorts of other ♥♥♥♥ trying to aggressively expand there. This made everyone else angry but dammit, look at all those Indians! Except India didn't care about the Indian (Canadian) world champion and due to how rights and things worked in India, they'd been seeing the Pay Per Views for free anyway. There was no money in India. The push ended and everyone tried to pretend it never happened.
