LegendsofTotalWar Leaks : detailed INFO, and why i think they aren't accurate

First DLC is "Lords of Shang-Yang" and for Cathay only it features Mung the Brutal (an Ogre but he is a Cathay LL) and Basheeva (A tigerman and also Cathay LL).

Generic Lord: Leering Devil Tyrant, Asawai

Generic Hero: Ogre Paymaster (again this is for Cathay), Clawspeaker

Units: Hunting Beasts, Mancrusher Giants, Leering Devil Maneaters (2 versions), Leering Devil Maneater Cavalry, Tiger Warriors (2 versions), Tiger Warrior Stalkers (2 versions), Ironclaw Tiger Warriors (3 versions) and 3 RoRs

FLC LL: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Maneater "and his Ogre Mercenaries" (this one actually for the Ogre Kingdoms)

Second DLC: Dogs of War

Legendary Lord: Borgio the Besieger, Lucrezzia Belladonna

Legendary Hero: Midas the Mean

Generic Lord: Mercenary General

Generic Hero: Hireling Wizard, Paymaster

Units: Pikemen, Crossbowmen, Duelists, Paymaster bodyguards, Cannons, Halfling Hot-pot Catapults, Light Cavalry, Heavy Cavalry (for Dogs of War) and 8 RoRs

FLC LL: Dechala (for Slaanesh)

Third DLC: Monkey King

Legendary Lord: Sun Wukong, Sukong the Trickster

Legendary Hero: Tang-Fu sentinel of the forest

Generic Lord: Kong-Mo

Generic Heroes: Wukong Chieftain, Scarback

Units: Wukong Warriors (4 versions), Wukong Mu (3 variants), Wukong Ru (2 variants), Great Yeren (2 variants), Vermillion Warbirds and 3 RoRs

Given what we know, i do not find this Leak to be much reliable.

-"Dogs of War" might seems semi-plausible, but still, only getting 9 base units? for a whole faction? Even if we consider that they might be able to recruit from other rosters, having 9 base units, only a couple of which being interesting seems quite absurd!
Not to mention having only 2 LLs, one LH, one Generic Lord and two Generic Heroes seems way too little content for such anticipated faction!

-So many Cathay DLCs in a row would mean sinking the sales, as not many are all that much into Cathay at the moment, not to mention they just received DLCs with "Shadows of Change".

-Lack of centerpiece units. Creative Assembly is quite fond of huge centerpiece monsters and creatures, and these leaks are utterly lacking in such department.

-They were focusing on reworks and race updates in Thrones of Decay, not continuing that would be nonsensical when there are still so many races that need content and updates.

Currently the response from the community is overall really negative over the leaked informations. Even Cathay fans aren't happy with this plans.

ye i agree that smells like made up ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
someone probably just made up some details around stuff that everyone on the forums always wants to see

Don't think that's reliable.

First: I agree. They would not do that much Cathay in a row. Or at least I think they would'nt
Second: We're still missing DLCs for Khorne and Slaanesh.

Sure an Slaanesh FLC is mentioned. But I don't think they would just ignore those two factions, when there's three DLCs "leaked".

Especially since the Khornate Fans are already pawing with their hooves.

Even if we give credit to the rumors that CA is trying to break into China's market, that would singlehandednly SINK the rest of the global market, mostly because Cathay isn't that high on people's wishlist!

Nice summary of the info! Sounds interesting, but I was so sad to hear Monkey King is not in the next dlc. Hopefully CA changes their mind and includes him

Dogs of war aren't just 9 units for a whole faction. They are mercenaries so they will contain a large variety of cross faction units like a rogue army would.

I find it believable if WH3 is popular in china they are chasing china money

Dogs of war shouldn’t be a major faction or have a massive roster. They shouldn’t be a paint the map faction or have grand objectives. CA should be the C part of their name for once

If it's Cathay in the next DLC, with no-name characters and a stupid subfaction mechanic, the next review bombing is obviously incomming. And it won't sell (I bet even worse than SoC)

That would be the final nail for the coffin. Even CA can't be that dumb. Also only making DLCs for Tzeentch and Nurgle, but not for Khorne and Slaanesh (so keeping them in that bad state) would be the next outrageous dilemma.

The new units for Ogres and Tigermen as subfaction units sound horrible. Also updates for Norsca, TK, Coast, Greenskins and Vampire Counts are very very much needed.

The leaks (besides DoW) are very disappointing so far.

I don't think it makes sense to give unique ogres for Cathay when the OG Ogres are still missing units. Also, sub races of Cathay doesn't really make sense since we haven't had a DLC like that for anyone else, they should just roll some of that stuff into Khuresh. From a lore perspective "good" beastmen bother me and it kills my immersion, we have 20+ years of lore, why does Cathay get a special exception? It overall feels really low effort.

DOW I absolutely believe though.

I had read about some of this stuff before Legend did his video. Wherever the info is coming from, it's appeared in multiple places from I assume multiple people.

Considering the collapse of Three Kingdoms, using Cathay to try for Chinese money again makes a horrible sort of sense.

It makes perfect sense, they want the chinese money so bad, so it makes 100% sense that they would make more more more cathay

Even if that was the case, said 9 units would be the most basic of basic!

Even other hybrid factions have unique units beside the added extra ones!

Tamurkan, for example, may have access to some Norsca units as well as Beastmen and Chorfs, but the base Roster is still solid and able to stand on it's own.

DoW has maybe two unique base units, the rest is pretty basic.

Agreed, it hasn't worked before, why should it work now?

Is China THAT interested into TW : W3 that their sales ALONE would justify such drastic change?

I highly doubt it, but if that was the case, hope they sell so much that we'll get even more content.

well, there's the Celestial Lion which is a 'purified chaos creature' lore-wise, purified beastmen wouldn't be out of place, but that's beside the point!

also for DoW...the leaks are extremely accurate to their lore and units, which frightens me as i fear they'll end up as the "Norsca" of the Ordertide.

9 extremely basic units, one general and two heroes aren't a solid base to build a mercenary faction. Even other hybrid LLs have a more strong basic roster.

Unless they are planning what they did with Elspeth and the Dwarfs, granting special units based on existing ones (Amethyst Militia and Grudge Settlers) , then that could be an acceptable compromise.

Provided we also get to recruit from other factions without Military Alliances.

Also, we'd straight up need more Generic Lords and Heroes, at least two types to begin with and a third hero type.

He's full of ♥♥♥♥, but in case he isn't this time (I wouldn't count on that) that would mean CA execs are still braindead idiots. But most likely he's full of ♥♥♥♥.

Hollywood bends over backwards for Chinese money and they often don't care. The minds of business executives are mysterious.

I'm reminded of a story. Years ago, before Covid, World Wrestling Entertainment discovered they had a lot of fans in India. There's over a billion people there, it's a gold mine! So the India push began. They took a complete loser of Indian heritage and suddenly made him world champion. They did shows in India, Indian themed matches and all sorts of other ♥♥♥♥ trying to aggressively expand there. This made everyone else angry but dammit, look at all those Indians! Except India didn't care about the Indian (Canadian) world champion and due to how rights and things worked in India, they'd been seeing the Pay Per Views for free anyway. There was no money in India. The push ended and everyone tried to pretend it never happened.
