WoC - Gift to Vassal Not Displaying in Minor Settlements

Anyone know why the "gift to vassal" option no longer shows up in minor settlements playing as Warriors of Chaos? Specifically, I'm playing as Archaon.

This option currently only is showing up when taking the capital settlement.

I'm assuming this is a bug, but maybe its intended as a feature -- bad feature, if so.

Maybe you missed that this settlement wasn't a traditional Norscan settlement. For example what ever is souther than Praag , was never a Norscan settlement.

If so, it's by default that you can't gift it to a vassal when you conquer it. You can only gift it through diplomacy.

If the settlement is a traditional Norscan settlement but when you conquer it you don't get the option to gift or revive the clan then it is a mod causing this.

In any case it is also always good to do a check game files integrity to be on the safe side.

This is a bug checking game files wont fix it

I made a thread about this like 2 days after 5.0 and multiple people confirmed that it is a vanilla bug

Thanks for confirming @huey30. I just had the issue while capturing a major settlement too, so clearly this isn't working correctly. Not sure if I should continue my campaign or hope to try and work around it. CA always has to break something that surely didn't not need to be touched. :/

i was able to gift the settlement by demolishing it and interacting afterwards, but not directly through diplomacy

CA made what appears to be a stealth change to how Warriors of Chaos establish Norscan vassals. There is now one and only one settlement for each Norscan vassal that can be used to make them switch to become your vassal, or to resurrect the faction if it was previously destroyed. Once they become your vassal in that way, the gift to vassal option is displayed when taking a settlement that is assigned to that Norscan faction. You have to check the new icon on every major settlement to learn which settlement is the one that "gives you a Norscan vassal". Previously any settlement that showed as belonging to Tong, for example, would work. No longer.
