Difference between Ku'Gath and Epidemius?
So far they are thematically VERY similar. One is based off of "The Perfect Plague" (Ku'Gath) while the other is based on just flooding the world with plagues (Epidemius)

But... I don't quite know how the function outside those roles. I know Ku'Gath for some reason is obsessed with those little teenie gremlin guys.

Kugath functions in combat as a large artillery monster spellcaster. Epipenimus functions as a frontline warrior and team buffer.
Also, lore-wise;
Ku'gath is a greater demon, a maker of plagues, commander of demons and of campaigns.
Epidemius is an important lesser agent, an observer of plagues and cataloguer of symptoms.

Epidemius doesn't so much make plagues or unleash plagues in the lore as simply appearing to observe the work of others. A sort of accountant of sickness. Everything must be dotted down properly so it can be analyzed.

As for the Nurglings, Ku'gath is rumoured to originally have spawned as a Nurgling, but to have grown and evolved into the major, ancient servant of Nurgle he is today. Probably why he loves the little guys so much, in a paternally "You will also be my next ingredient" sort of way.

Ku'gath is daddy.

Epidemius is inbred.

Ku'gath boosts nurglings because as a nurgling he fell into Gramp Nurgle's cauldron, drank all the fun juice inside, and grew into a bloated Great Unclean One. Think Obelix. He is Nurgle's favoured son, on a quest to recreate the "perfect plague" he drank so selfishly.

Epidemius is a middle management bureaucrat. He catalogizes plagues.
