Medieval 3 reveal at Gamescom?
Can we expect the reveal of Medieval 3 or another Total War game at Gamescom this year or is it more likely that there will be an announcement concerning more Dlcs for Warhammer lll)?

Well, I never thought I could like the fantasy setting of Warhammer. But I gave it a try and was totally happy with the game, especially with the different factions and resulting from that with the various mechanics and all in all with the enormous scope of the game; not with the downloadpolitics of the company.

But now I would really appreciate to play a historical Total War with very good graphics, more detailed cities on the map and a more complex economy as well as diplomacy system again.

Please let me know about any opinions, news or rumours on this question:-)

So would I, but considering the path CA has taken with the last games I am very doubtful. Maybe diplomacy. And I really doubt they can top the 1212-mod for Attila when it comes to medieval, I be suprised if a Med3 even contains 1/4 of nr the features in that mod.

And the rumors says WW1

News? None.
Rumours? WW1 game coming next, complete with new engine, also rumoured to be undergoing development troubles and delays, don't expect an announcement any time soon. 40k game expected to come next after that, think 2027 at the earliest.

If we get a historical title any time soon, it will be definitely TK2. CA needs money and milking the Chinese has proven to be the best way getting it.

No. The only thing CA has in development for this fiscal year is dlc. But on the brighter side, we could see three WH dlc plus the free Pharaoh dlc.

If the next WH dlc releases end of august, that leaves end of december/beginning January for a second, and then a third by end of April. The Pharaoh update would then hit around Oct/Nov.

Despite what Fenix said above, I would think it's more likely we see 40K end of calendar 2025 or the beginning od 2026.

Probably not... although something solid of the historical with the better/newer additions other games have seen would be great for several reasons.
I'm thinking a Medieval 3, Empire 2 or era bridging/between the two primarily but am open to serious ideas. Though, as Raider Deci has fairly mentioned, as per the case of the 1212 mod... modders can work wonders with existing titles/assets etc.

However, and this is potentially a double edged knife, my reasoning is, I hope, sound.
See, I'm a fan of the historical as much as of Warhammer. Indeed, growing up from my teens onwards (some third of a century now) there were very few things in life that gave me greater entertainment and joy than an interest in history and a love for GW IP's.
And I want, truly, the 40K Total War that keeps getting thrown around BUT my bar for that re being done fully right and proud is as high, maybe higher, as it has been for Warhammer... and I've had plenty to critique there over the years.

And here we have a CA that might have turned a leaf in terms of how they do and why... but are still shaky and not nearly at their best since the last year or two. I don't personally think they are yet able or ready to do for 40K, a greater endeavour than WFB was, what is necessary to make it the best envisioning of 40K like this series is for WFB.
That is, without effectively making just another Gladius or Sanctus Reach but with TW seasoning and otherwise full of omissions and holes.
I'd rather wait 5 years to get the 40K TW that should be than have a version in half the time that gets halfway there, flawed and possibly cancelled cos CA flew too close to the sun before they were ready.

And so... better imo they make efforts to get back in stride of old with a full historical title that utilises the progress etc made since the greats of old. All the same, I'd expect what with maybe a new engine needing maturing as well as any other potential missteps and errors it'd have it's troubles but the proof of getting through that challenge, the lessons learned etc, would fully ready CA for the really big projects and changes ahead after that.
Think of it like an old champ boxer taking some fights to ready for a new title bid.
Also, a really well done non-40K sooner would garner the resources to fund such. Yes, many are only along on this ride for the super cool games but there's still a lot of us that'd be happy with the historical IF it was up to scratch and not cancelled prematurely due to other background issues (Three Kingdoms) or merely a poor cobbled together option to hold off the outcome of even poorer decisions (Pharaoh)
Hell, I'd even take a couple of good Sagas titles IF they followed what the original remit allowed for instead of an Attila DLC and an alt Bronze Age/Pharaoh's missing culture/factions DLC.

I think it's rumoured/leaked that the next titles are: WW1, 40k, Star wars, TK2

No need. I already had lunch with him today, I too was curious about this topic so I asked him. He said he could neither confirm nor deny if Medieval 3 would be revealed.

I don't think they will come out with Medieval 3 straight away, I think they will develop the new engine with another game and see how it performs, see what issues they have. I'd also wager they'd want to release a Medieval 2 remaster prior to releasing a Medieval 3.

As for the rumours, I am only excited for a potential 40k Total War. A WW1 title by Total War doesn't really appeal to me but maybe with the new engine they will step up their game and develop some actual cover mechanics for the game.

I'd be the most hyped for a Star Wars game several years ago, not anymore. It would really depend on what period of Star Wars and how they design the game. They'd have to really step up their game to make me excited for that.

I enjoyed the mechanics introduced by TK but I was never a fan of the setting which is my personal preference. Those that enjoy the setting I'm sure would love a TK2, I'm sure that game will do well.

If they're doing 40k on a new engine (which they would really need to, the current one is barely adequate for what they're doing now, never mind more modern warfare), they need a proving ground game first. That's why it's often assumed that WW1 will come first.

Remember Empire? Yeah, nobody wants to see 40k get that treatment, Games Workshop too I'd imagine.

They are skipping medieval 3 and going straight for 4, last i heard.

Makes sense, we should be at around 5-6 by now.

Highly unlikely, recemt rumors and leaks suggest a WW1 and 40K game
Lord Farquad May 30, 2024 @ 3:42pm
clearly it's trek wars, the famous space wizard game
matek7 May 31, 2024 @ 12:53am
WW1, really? Oh dear! :-(

I would prefer a new Medieval or Empire.

For me it would also be okay, when they would call It Medieval 3,4,5 or 6, even better Medieval: The Real Deal ;-)
Falaris May 31, 2024 @ 1:20am
To my knowledge, CA is developing 3 TW titles currently although which are not disclosed (other than, it's not Star Wars). WW1, 40K, and one other is my guess.

Main reason outside of rumor I guess WW1 is the recent updates to the steam tank - it definitely seems like they are working on the engine to make it more 'tank friendly', and this late in the game's development, it's likely to be the result of playing around with code for a new game.

They did say they would make a new TK game, but that would be a bit strange right now.

The odds of a reveal at gamescom is ... pretty good.
