Interesting take on the upcoming title. The Fremen will certainly have superior melee stats and unbreakable morale, since they were able to defeat the imperial sardaukar army so easily. It remains to be seen if the unbreakable morale and melee stats will be locked behind tech trees because, its a big part of the plot in ᑐ ᑌ ᑎ ᕮ. The weakness of the Fremen faction would be their lack of body shields, this makes them vulnerable to lasguns and other ranged weaponry.

This is how the combat would probably look like in game.
House Atreides, House Harkkonen, House Corrino and the Fremen already covers the bases.
Still think they should have the battle Pug from the 1984 one....
Suits CA's four faction release standard perfectly. I'd be interested in how to politics of dune would play out in the campaign mechanics and tech trees. How would unit recruitment and interstellar travel work?
In your original posting you said "I just heard the bad news about total war warhammer 40k", that's what i was asking out.
Now I see you edited it to indicate dune might be comming.
They will have to develop the outdated engine for the next title anyways. Remember to feel privileged to play total war.
Yeah, the politics would need to be important... the Landsraad is pretty much the governing body much like a senate... would apply to all the great houses and whether any house can make claim to be the emperor.
The Fremen well they probably have a means for governing themselves, liked the dynamic of the different beliefs in the 2024 film, would be happy if they worked something with that.
Then there are the other aspects behind the scenes.... Bene Geserit, Spacing Guild, Mentats etc... All could have an aspect for the game... then there are hunter killers and espionage etc.
As for interstellar travel.... best get harvesting that spice and palling up with the Spacing Guild with your Mentat :)
I assume Arrakis would be the central map, but great houses would still have their own planetary fiefdoms, including unique building chains. Troop transport to other planets and Arrakis, would have to be acquired from the spacing guild with currency.
Yes Arrakis would be central to the conflict, as without the spice, nobody is travelling anywhere soon as its required for space travel.
Spice is only found on Arrakis as far as the story goes until a worm is transported to Chapterhouse much much later.
Other planets could be places for conflict if they wanted to if people get bored of the desert, but really doesn't need to be.
