Favorite Co op pairs?
Me and a bud tend to have issues finding a proper co op playtrough, we both have a few "musts" but seem to fail balancing it out baed on picking faction.

So what are you guys your co op factions prefferances based on:
Not taking any corruption damage from eachother
One of the two having decent ranged units.
We tried looking for a mod which made corruption not hurt us specificailly so we can duo lets say one chaos and one not chaos faction together, but failed to find one before.

Suggestions? Maybe even such a mod? Thanks lmk!

There's two Bretonia lords that basically start right next to each other. Then there's Grand Cathay. Otheriwse, like the other guy said, Belakor and Wulfric or Throgg is a good pairing. High elves start all near each other mostly. Morathi and Rakarth start near each other sorta too.

Any factions close to one another should do the trick? Or you can just use Change Starting Settlement mod that works in multiplayer IIRC:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2790754811

If fun factor, corruption compatibility, location etc taken into account:
- Kugath + Festus (you can change the starting settlement as Kugath to be far closer to Festus, just avoid Middenheim/Nuln https://www.reddit.com/r/totalwar/comments/wne83l/all_dark_fortress_locations/ )
- either Sigvald or Azazel or Morathi, and N'Kari
- Archaon plus Drazhoath/Astragoth/Zhatan (an all-Chaos unification campaign?)
- Belakor and Wulfrik (alternatively Throgg)
- Valkia and Skarbrand
- Settra + Khalida, or any other Order faction in the vicinity
- any Vampire Coast + Vampire Count, the Vampire Counts player should move closer to the Vampire Coast guy
- Ostankya + Twilight sisters, or either Ostankya or Sisters of Twilight with any HE close enough
- Vilitch, and Kairos or Changeling player moves near
- Yuan Bo + Markus Wulfhart (vs all lizards and skaven)
- Franz OR Gelt + Durthu or Orion (or mby MBY Drycha)
- any greenskins + any ogres? not much ranged though

Oh, and if anyone is into 'the crappiest pairs', that would be anything involving Nakai, Beastmen, or Daniel.

Morathi and N'Kari is quite fun. Works thematically, mechanically (since you have the same corruption), and strategically.

Plus, you get to hear some of N'Kari's amazing lines implying what they've done with Malekith's mom.

I'd like to do somethings to Malekith's mom.

Note on the Tomb kings in co-op: they all require having built the special pyramids for their long campaign bonus/victory. So at best only one of them can get it. You'll also be competing for the books (not useful for a co-op campaign), so I'd also avoid Mannfred and Volkmar.
Bel'akor is one of the best Coop lords. His ability to teleport over and support your ally is great great great! You end up with more Coop battles this way.

Changeling is a nice support champion if you have the recent DLC. HE buffs your ally.

Wood Elves are nice with the teleport mechanic.

Honestly, I wish CA just put in a system to let an ally teleport nearby so you can Coop more. It sucks to be across the world from your buddy.

You might want to double check that, MP campaigns add an alternate victory condition, but still keep the single player ones as well (including the buffs you get from them).

Would be cool if you could play as the same LL. That's not to say having two of the same LL. One player just uses a non-L lord or maybe even a Hero.

So much this. I know it'd never happen, but if we could pick the same faction, and double up said faction's passive income to compensate? That'd be pretty cool.

As is? Best we can do is picking Co-Op lords that're both same race, and start right next to one another, like Karl and Balthasar, or Thorgrim and Ungrim.

For me and a buddy of mine what was an awesome campaign was high elves and Skaven, I’ve attacked settlements first to expand my under empire and he took the city above, not very lore friendly but a lot of fun, our biggest campaign was on mortal empires with him playing imrik and me playing snikch, the corruption was mostly no problem and we used every settlement as much as possible.

Also wood elves paired with any faction is fun, but wood elves are more as an support for the other player not realy an expansion based faction so you can support you buddy’s goal very effectively and just care bout your trees

Vampire counts and Vampire coast are a match made in heaven.

Both have the same corruption. Lore of vampires heals all friendly undead, even allies.
If they take alot of zombies for alot of casulties, they both feed the raise dead pool for eachother.

The counts can take all the settlements, because coast is semi horde and doesn't need the provinces.

The best part is even, they full eachother. Counts bring the frontline that will hold anything, have the melee dps options as well as the mobility to flank with cavalry.
While coast brings the ranged and artillery the counts lack.

There's simply no 2 races that work together that well as these 2.
