Archers on walls
Is it possible to add an option for the second line on the walls to be turned towards incoming enemies and not towards the centre of your city? It is terribly silly that it works this way.

Nope, you are better setting them up on the ground a bit behind the walls.
If only.

It actually seems like archers on the walls can now shoot 360 even if the firing arc doesn't show it. I've seen the AI do it a couple times now.

Technically even if they could turn they would have no line of sight and would have to shoot blindly. Also while game depicts arrows doing huge arcs historical shooting were in faaaar straighter lines. I guess dwarven minners with explosive charges could kind of work.

Yeh its often better put range units ground behind wall. You get better cover and mobility. 2nd line is very unprotected enemy fire too. I use the 2nd line when im assaulting enemy or when enemy is not climbing walls and got inside. Then its good spot to shoot down like mounted or monsters units who cant get in to walls.

it has been like that forever tbh, walls have always been extremely janky in the TW series

Whoa functional archers on walls? You must be new here, don’t expect mechanics to actually work

I'm pretty sure they don't even know who coded the walls in the first place. Everything about them is sh!tty and janky and buggy... u want your units to get off the wall? well they walk to the inner edge and then TELEPORT ONTO THE GROUND like bruh omg

Just watching the AI defend, definitely this.

Doesn't matter where their archers are facing, if your units get in range they can fire on them.

Your archers can do that only if you click on the enemy with your archers when enemy is in range.

you need them to be able to face inwards. If the enemy breaches your gate and is fighting in the square, you want your archers on the wall to be able to pour on the pain.

A joke my friends often have about total war games:

It goes like this:
Remember how in rome total war 1 Archers would hide in cover, move from cover to shoot then get back in cover?

Lost technology.

Remember how we used to have buildings change as they where replaced by your cultures building?

Lost technology.

Remember when we had seasons?

Lost technology.

Remember when population was used for troops.

Lost technology.

I have said it many times.

Total war warhammer sells because it is warhammer.
Not because it is total war.
As total war has a well earned reputation of having less features in newer games and putting limits on mods to prevent modders from doing a better job then the dev's.

I want to add something to your list ;)
Remember how we were able to build buildings that provided weapon or armor upgrades that were actually visualized in battles?

Aw man, your list made me nostalgic *sniff*

No you dont want to do that bc your archers are dead long before the gate is breached - unless you talk about an another game, this here is the TWWH3 forum and in that game walls are not much more than a indefensable minor speedbump, sad as it is.
Or you are the attacker ... then you want your archers on the wall asap.
