seems to be a come back of an old bug
I also witnessed black boxes flickering over the screen.
It would get better when I waited a while in the main menu before starting anything or I would just try again, again and again until it worked. But the game would crash at a later point almost asured.
I was under the impression that the issue was with my graphics crad since I had similar issues with other games and I knew that a fan was broken on the card. It could therfore also have been a problem with overheating, which Warhammer 3 likes to promote.
After I updated my PC and got a new Card the problems ceased. I don't necessary think you have the Same issue but I found the Symptoms similar.
That's the thing, i have no such issues in other games, even more heavy on the machine than TW3, and i don't have overheating either, my CPU barely goes over 60 degrees while it is allowed to safely go over 80.
Weird ♥♥♥♥ that is.
What's your harddrive?
Have you verified the installed files?
It sounds like it's got a problem loading textures. That could be because you're running out of VRAM, or harddrive is too slow, or corrupted files.
Worst case, hardware is failing. Faulty memory might not register in other games because they don't use the same area of memory, or it may be too recent a development.
Is there little, or no, issues on the world map?
1. I have two monitors, 8GB of video memory for each
2. Game is installed on SSD KINGSTON hard drive, and i have a few hundreds of free space on it.
3. Yeah, i verified game files, reinstalled the game, even reinstalled Windows entirely, wiped all my files, but this issue remains.
Yeah, there were practicaly no issues on world map, i played for about 4 hours straight with no issues at all, doing auto-resolves, but as soon as i entered the battle, game started chimping out a few minutes later.
Okay. See if you can run it on one monitor only and if it runs better then. It'll rule out some issues, at least.
I'm afraid that in my experience, that sort of error often means the video card is dying, and, as it's a venerable 1080, it's would not be that surprising. But, it could be other things. I assume you've updated drivers and all that malarky.
I think the next step would be to run a memory tester, and depending on the result, talk with support.
(Remember to run the memory tester more than once; they can have false negatives, but NEVER false positives.).
