pretty good free nurglings
even close to free on the other lords
they are just chaff units so not that surprising that they become cheap
but it is nice for nurgle if you can build up a reserve
Naa, it works as intended, they´re... just not very good. ^^
Nurglings got decent stats for their upkeep (88), their high hp per model (140) gives them synergies with healing or regen, like the one kugath has.
Like all deamons they suffer from having 20% phys resist at the cost of having any armor.
Skaven slaves are very useful in almost every measure.
And to add: Nurgling regen is nothing to write home about, and are very slow.
Nurglings at least got good MD and vanguard deployment. Having poison is nice, just nothing special in their roaster.
Its no surprise that you thought they suck after thinking they could be good arror catchers, a unit with 0% MR, no shields and fairly big (for inf) modelsize.
making them very bad at catching arrows
on the other hand it does let you shoot over them
so if you get some ratlinggun mercenarys they can shoot over them into the enemy
Nurglings have decent MD but that's all that they have, even with damage reflection they do fine, but they easily fall to arrows(magic and fire) and very vulnerable to most artillery. They are like slaves except Nurglings uses are even more limited in scope once the player gets rolling, especially when there are Nurgle-Marauders. There's a small niche they fall under, and they only do 'ok' vs. melee only scenarios, they do not provide much battlefield benefit... And slow as hell.
They are almost redundant. Never needed them using Festus. Nurgle needs them because he really can't recruit much else at the start, or mid. They aren't even very good arrow catchers, it's just happen-stance.
