Is it just me or is Khorne pretty boring?
I mean I actually like that it's a straightforward faction, but the mechanics are meh, no mages, no allies samey units that are straight upgrades from one another... Opinions?

there are no mechanics tho. i mean, the mechanics are geared towards getting more units and multiplying the amount of forces/battles for each turn. And there is no strategy to them, just fire and forget. Pump out strongest units and smash. Can be appealing to some. not to me

Don't like him either.

That beeing said, the fact that you can't use Magic or artillery means you can't delete infantry blobs or open up blocked paths as easily as other races might do.

So khorne favours a fair bit of flanking I think. Or pushing through with high mass. Which involves tactics or something... I wouldn't know...

He does have artillery (skull cannons), they just aren't particularly good artillery :D

Yes. Khorne is fricking boring (and lame). Cheeses, What kind of undermench though of this faction at all imo

Strongly agree. Aesthetically Khorne is great, and I love seeing Skarbrand's soccer punt animation.

But, all melee gets old.

I mean he does have some mechanics like being able to colonize ruins automatically. Not to mention he DOES have artillery. Weird the lack of range but that aside hes similar to the skaven basically, just tankier units.

I was thinking about the ability to remove great blobs of infantry with big explosions or something when I mentioned "no artillery". So I was thinking mortars or rockets and the like.
Outside of artillery maybe flamethrower units or shotguns or indeed magic.

The point beeing, I think this might be khornes one "weakness" and he therefore favours flanking.

Which actually the Skull Cannon also likes. Because, yes it's not the best artillery, but it is fast, has one piercing shot and regenerates ammo in melee so it likes to be close to melee.
It likes flanking too and shooting down the whole length of engaged infantry.

You have Skullcannons. Which can be extremely effective if the get to fire down the infantry line, or against expensive monstrous infantry if they get to shoot for a while.

Also skirmish cav, which is good value for their price, and the Khorne variant can be used in melee since it has such a high attack stat.

No. Slaannesh favors flanking, that's literally their special skill, Khorne favors out killing the enemy.
