There will be a big chance during sales/discounts tbh, otherwise not likely

sales but like maybe next spring, summer Chinese New Year, Skulls (aka Warhammer lore fest)?

$25 for a freakin DLC is silly and I own nearly all the DLCs. It's not that I can't afford it, it's just that I won't pay that much for DLC. Can't support price gouging.

1-10% tops, adding more units/reskins/content than planned 0-15%

Unlikely, especially beyond 10%. We just got past one of the biggest sales of the year short of maybe Christmas during what was also perhaps the biggest time of backlash they've yet to face. Didn't bother to do better than 5$ shaved off that 25$. Like whoopity ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ do, on sale it was still like 50% more costly than what you would have gotten the equivalent of in older games if you consider Lords and their accompanying units from 2 as being worth roughly $5 each, given each Lord Pack was $10 without sales.

Price decrease... baring the collapse of the global economy or CA being sold to a different company I can confidently say 0%. CA is a corporation owned by another corporation and the line goes up.

Of the base price? 0%
On sales? 100%

Assuming you're talking about future DLC?

The cost per unit to produce DLC is 0. You have your development cost and then that's it... You pay 30% of incoming revenue to Steam (and whatever percentage applies to other storefront operators) but that's consistent regardless of the price.

You make the same selling one unit for $100 as you would selling 100 for $1.

If SEGA look at the sales of Shadows of Change and think they could make 2x more sales by dropping the price by 40% there's absolutely no reason why they wouldn't do it; It makes more money for them, it means they have more people engaging with their products, it means they have more positive word of mouth and are viewed less as being greedy.

I have no idea why there are so many people who are insistent that they'll stick with the pricing no matter what; They will have increased pricing because their projections suggested they'd make more money with the new price. If they re-assess projections and think that they'll make more money with yet another new price they'll do it.

Because they haven't reduced base prices in over a decade...
drizzlynewt Nov 29, 2023 @ 12:18pm
All that means is that they've never made a price increase and then done projections which indicate that they could actually make more money at a lower price. In almost all instances companies set pricing to maximise revenue or capture market share and high prices don't typically help with market share.

WH1 Is still 60$ so no. Never. Only sales

It wouldn't be to their advantage to lower the price of Warhammer 1 though. Firstly because Warhammer 3 is a going concern and they wouldn't want to risk losing sales of that because having it only be, say, $20 makes someone think "Oh, maybe I'll just try Warhammer 1" and then run the risk that someone is either satisfied with that given that it includes four of the most popular races which also happen to correspond to the most popular fantasy archetypes outside of Elves or is put off from getting the other games because it's fairly primitive by modern standards and people might think the later games will be the same.

Then if instead of looking at Warhammer 1 as its own game you look at its value as what is essentially DLC for Warhammer 3 you've got a situation where you have all four of Empire, Greenskins, Dwarfs and Vampire Counts, complete with a not complete but fully functional roster and two lords a piece for $60. Compare that to $25 for just the Chaos Dwarfs or even against $19 for the old race packs and it's just better value.

Tell me you don’t know anything about business without saying you don’t know anything about business
