High level defensive towers are harming my own troops

Fighting a defensive siege as dwarves i constructed a level 4 cannon tower. It tore the crap out of 3 units of my troops fighting an enemy lord.

Thing about cannon balls, whole friend or foe thing really isn’t their strong suit.

Unless something changed this patch they don't do friendly fire, though they can knock your troops around.

That's the issue, they're doing friendly fire now. The towers aren't supposed to do that.

ranged has had ALWAYS dealt FF, no matter the source

It's a bad idea to have too many of your units blobbed up in one area, especially fighting a single enemy lord. Units can only attack if they can get within range to attack, and if it's too crowded there, they cannot get in range.
