Sounds like they probably need some work on their attack animations at least, and maybe some more ammo would make the price more worth it?
Terrain is far less a issue for them. They're able to actually shoot over your other models without being obstructed, a HUGE plus.
Unlike carronades they're indeed tanky and will be able to fire untill they die without losing damage. Carronades can and will lose a cannon model quite easily. 1 Carronade has around 1k hp. Which can be killed of with a single spell cast of spirit leech. Once the cannon model dies, that's it. It's gone.
Carronades are good, they really are. All cannons are. But a Necrofex just does more then just shoot.

Why are you comparing 2 very different units as is they're interchangeable?
