Southern realms are the Dogs of War factions, which could be real interresting to see in game, but does not sound like it is about to happen..
I don't see how people can say they don't have anything to do with the story, the Border Kingdoms mostly resisted vampire corruption and held the mountain pass for a long time against the Greenskin and Skaven, they should be acting as a bit of a spoiler for the Von Carstein and Bloody Handz and having more trouble with Skaven than Ogres.
A lot of the border princes like the northern settlements are mercenaries loyal to coin no lords..
If we get them it will be part of a dogs of war race pack (though they might not be playable still, just have a full roster).
And it would be a lot more realistic to include them as a new independent Empire LL with few of their own units, and some divided provinces with a few new minor factions to be conquered or confederated. Maybe a minor legendary hero or lord similar to Todbringer.
the Border princes are really just a mix of other nations, its really just a dumping place for unwanted/outcasts from around the old world.
you will find anything from empire, bretonnia, vampires and more.
Infact most of the princes are descended from bretonnians.
just because something is just a clone/copy of another race, does not mean they can't get changed to be their own unique faction/race.
