At some point CA said they want to release an endgame scenario for each faction, but i´m unsure if they ever do it - and honestly calling them events or scenarios is a bit overdone. It spawns some things which You need to destroy. And if they do them they could be part of a DLC, or better in some free patch. I can´t imagine people paying for these endgame scenarios, while their production costs are probably included in the DLC price anyways.
Just compare to stellaris that has several depending on settings and whats actually happens in the campaign, thats actual endgame events.
CA themself has even done better before with a continous endgame (forced for narrative reason) in Attila with the arrival of Attila and the ongoing climate change, delivered with some excellent cutscenes
Yes, they did it that good, that the climate change events broke every single AI faction except for the scripted one, as they couldn´t handle the income loss, and wouldn´t develop their settlements any more, so they couldn´t field endgame armies. Was nice.
Love the sarcasm! 10/10.
Nobody said it was perfect, and with some actual post-launch content besides culture-packs for 6 months like say bugfixing & optimisation maybe things would had worked better for the AI and the game overall.
Still take things like these along with immediete campaign-effects over a textbox & a bunch of random stacks from already defeated enemies (or friends)

(yes I pick the ones I like and I wont miss a chance to fanboy over Attila and I am not much for cinematics with still images)
