Offline play? Is it possible still?

I've seen a few vague reviews alluding to the fact that some people couldn't play the game because they needed an internet connection. It wasn't like this a year ago, did it change?

No. Set your steam to offline mode it tells you it needs interntet connection to first boot. Even though you played every day for the last week. Denuvo DRM is for the blame.

I assume you have to run it at least once right? And then after that you should be good.

True, it (usually) works fine if you've played it online recently but what about people who only play irregularly, on deployment, moving, commuting? They all get the "something went wrong" first launch warning. I've been reporting that issue to CA for years and they still claim their game does not require an online connection.

The term "defective by design" comes to mind.

I read a while back that you need to be online once per 30 days to continue playing though I cannot attest to that as being a fact.

Nope, you can play this game just fine in offline mode.

No internet connection needed what so ever for single player.

This is wrong though.

All games using Denuvo Anti-tamper require a recurring online connection, just not a constant one. You may play a while offline but at some point you will need to go back online.
