Sequel Cancelled - "reduction of expenses" at CA
More leaks, courtesy of Bellular.

Gotta say, I was surprised that the DLC teams were actually quite large. Apparently it's just the entire TW development cycle that is incredibly inefficient.

Not at all surprised that most of the problems are because of rushed development, no investment in better tools, disconnected executives, and a C-Suite who don't think it's worth it to spend more time to fix bugs. Apparently TW's tools make development and bugfixing almost impossible. "The warscape engine is crumbling under the weight of TWWH3."

Confirmation of reductions at CA.

Oh, yeah, and the big(?) news...there was a 3K sequel being made up to a year ago, then it was cancelled. I wonder what was happening a year ago that might have needed those resources...*COUGH* HYENAS *COUGH* (just my thinking, not from Bellular).

If CA really wanted to reduce expenses they would cut ties with Denuvo and Feral Interactive. Seems like mgmt decided layoffs was the better choice :KingBean:

there never was a 3k sequel there was a 3k "remake" which was announced unofficially when they ended 3k support so the fact that it was "announced" means the leak revolving around it being cancelled likely is not true as they only said other unannounced projects were cut.

Not a surprise about 3k2, but I think they should reopen dev on 3k as they did when they had Sophia make some dlc.

But perhaps the Chinese market isn't as attractive as it once was.

Great video, i wonder why are white knights never discussing this. Bellular seems like a decent source.

Wow the leaks on 3 Kingdoms 2.0 is damning. They literally killed off their most successful game ever, and couldn't even support development for an entire year :monstertraininferno:. Complete incompetence, I have no words.

Also not surprised that Chaos Dwarves failed, mediocre copy and paste mechanics and tbh Chaos Dwarves is simply not an interesting race. It's a race that GW themselves completely dropped and is beyond antiquated.

Man, the guy has what, 2 of the last 160 videos have vaguely positive lines, compared to sky is falling news. He needs to get a puppy.

I did find the video worth watching in the end. More industry knowledge, less self-important whinging.

It... it kinda correlates with the quality and quantity of CA products lately... or their reviews... bunch of backlash and two good things to praise.

I mean, we know that at least a couple of these things are true and we didn't need an insider to tell us.

1. Why else would patching be so slow, going all the way back to 3K?

2. There is a QA issue and even the biggest CA supporters know it.

Bellular not only hosts a gaming news channel with good sources, he's also a professional game developer so he generally has better insight than most.

They could earn a lot of good will by going back to 3K and making more content for it.
