It's actually not bad at all. Also it goes through 278 factions. Turn off hero cameras and make them move at faster speed along with Lord moving at faster speeds (keep their cameras on so you can see the armies coming)

It takes like 15-20 seconds for me when there 200+ factions at the beginning of the game on my several years old PC.

I just remembered the turn time in WH2 before Snickch/Malus patch, it took 1 min 42 sec fo first turn in ME, on old i7 2600k 4.5ghz

when you have 500 turns in the campaign and 50 remaining races, then you will know what a long move is, but for now, casuals who play 50 moves and start new campaigns cry that they have ai for a long time, not knowing what a long time is

It is worse than potion of speed update. So Mortal empires is much much faster.

Are you using an SSD or a NVMe ? If no then it's time to buy one. It's one of the few game that trully need one.

Warhammer 2 was never faster than wh3 since release. Wh2 took minutes on my very old pc while wh3 runs through almost 300 factions in a few seconds.

I actually have the game on an HDD and its not even that slow, CPU is doing all the heavy work

By turn 100 less than 100 factions are left in IE, so the problem kind of resolves itself.

It is in fact very bad, particularly for immortal empires. Those claiming that their system runs through the end turn within a minute or so, at the mid to late game, are simply not being honest. Also, The CPU makes little to no difference, so long as it's a reasonably modern one. So no, it's not down to 'CPU strength' at all.
