Nurgle Campaign is the worst
Common sense, Kugath as the worst spawn ever, every faction declare war on him, he is in the middle of every hostile faction possible, Dark Elves, Skaven, Dwarf, Warrior of Chaos (specially Archaon for some reason he declare war on me), Chaos dwarf, Elves, Seraphon, Vampire count (with the most op lord ever) i'm so tired, No good army trait, no good unit, no good heal, no infection damage, it's just soooo lame to be a nurgle player right now pls do something....

Definitely a total design misstep on CA's behalf. It's WH2's Skaven all over again who also sucked before they received their first DLC.

BTW, the only reason Nurgle is even playable despite being so weak early on is the coward AI that never quite commits to exterminating you when it can.

If you play with a mod that removes that cowardice, Nurgle has to climb freaking Mt Everest...while starting from challenger depth.

It is just because you have to adapt to nurgle's playstyle. I was struggling, A LOT, but then I've understood his mechanics. In the late game you can spam 2 plague cultists every turn with attrition damage and +50% attrition damage and send them to any army that is trying to conquer you. Plague will spread and will be really for them. 9 turns of attrition is no joke, even for AI. And while they take attrition damage, they will not replenish.

You need to only build on SAFE location, where you are SURE that AI can't take any settlement. Other provinces are there just to create a little wall for AI, to let them take attrition damage.

A fully builded nurgle province could provide 6k of income, and you usually take 6k after a battle and 20-60k when sacking settlements (with the plague that increase sack income).

This is how you play nurgle, you have to always fight, sack, conquer and build on safe location.

Also remember that while military buildings are expensive, you need to only build once and they provide the best income when reaching high tier (especially the advanced one).

So you confirm what I said, he has to jump through enormous hoops that no one else gets and the payoff is not even worth it because every other race is overpowered in the lategame in addition to getting there faster.

He's just terribly designed.

And remember, the only reason you can even get away with this is because the AI is pacifistic and cowardly. If it put ever so much more pressure on you intitially you'd not be able to do anything.

I also had issue with now nurgle played especially as the offensive plagues are useless. However i guess i was feeling like using artillery or so and made a defensive army to defend a bunch of soul grinders and their multiple arty shots per shot was really satisfying, I do recommend trying that out if your finding other strategies to be boring (like blobbing and using magic for damage/healing)

Well, getting Soul Grinders takes a while, so more idling and empty turns. Also, there are better factions in the game that utilize artillery, so you are not even getting the Nurgle experience.

There's simply no denying that Nurgle's design is horrible and unfun.

Well the start is a bit hard, but after a time your will learn how to plague your way out.
I think he is very strong if u use him right. Early enemies wont do so much if playing right. especially when you play with 2-3 kultist which can summon the portal vs any range units. But next update nurgle will receive some love

Nurgle is the only race I finished the campaign with, why? Because it is my favourite of the 4 gods in general. That being said it seems they have no identity with their toughness apparently being their strength? Well that is countered by armies that are high damage, ranged or both. Plagues are a joke to the AI but utterly damning if you get plagues when playing anything else. On the battlefield it seems like the bulk of their army needs a tiny ME effect, they are supposed to be awful to fight because it isn't always their weapons that kill armies, it is the plagues and infections they bring. It just seems CA forgot that Nurgle should be a slow, tough flock of disease ridden bugs instead of a slow, low damage wall of off green waddling that is there to protect the few units that actually kill things. Hope for a rework but if not some mods do their job for them.
