Unnecessary nerfs to Bretonnian units
Overall Bretonnia has been buffed, a lot of great changes for them have been made especially with knights. However, I really don't understand the nerfs to infantry and reliques.

So, they added in the knight buff for peasants, where peasant units gain 8 leadership when nearby a knight unit. This is great on its own, but then they nerfed the leadership of every single peasant unit by 5 (or even 6). This to me seems like a completely unnecessary nerf, because now not only do you need to have peasants and knights near eachother, but its only a 3 leadership buff overall. The only good part of Bretonnian infantry is that they can hold the line for actually useful units and now if they happen to be too far away from a knight they just break instantly. I feel like they could've just kept the base leadership the same and lowered the amount given from knights, but that might just be me.

I also don't understand the weird nerf to reliques alongside the buff of having it boost melee attack. They lowered the poor things leadership from 85 to 75 and the number of entities per splash attack from 4 to 2?? Now this isn't going to make a huge difference, I mostly just don't understand the point of nerfing it at all, was anyone using this unit in the first place?

Anyways, the main point of what I'm trying to say is that they gave huge buffs (and only buffs) to Bretonnia's best units and then gave some buffs and nerfs to their worst ones, it just seems like a confusing change to me.

I want a Bretonnia DLC so bad, I know cavalry is their thing but damn, some proper infantry and archers would make the faction so much more versatile... every game's a cav spam and as you said, they got buffed so I see even less reasons to recruit infantry and this yin-yang mechanic they implemented for Bretonnia doesn't change it.

Give me a LL and 4-5 high(er?) tier foot units. Some factions have everything!

And removed expendable, so now when an infantry routes it will lower the leadership of other infantry.

It is a confusing change. I feel that if they hadn't touched the morale values at all it would have been a great change. But yeah. Stray a bit too far away from your knights and your entire line just crumbles.

I've resorted to de-horse Repanse and have her among the front liners sometimes to keep them together xD I mean... knights are going to be far away sometimes. They kind of have to for charges and whatnot. Would be nice if your frontline doesen't go to **** during that time xD

This one is actually good. The HP per model doubled on grail guardians, making life magi much stronger on them.

Conversely, the Royal Hippo Knights lost HP per model

This too! One unit routs and now the knight buff doesn't even matter, what a disappointing change

I foresee some hotfixes to these changes within... 3 months or so? xD

These changes, along with the lady's blessing, are made to lay the foundation for what is to come.

Expandable units always lowered the leadership of other expandable units when routing, while not affecting any unit that wasnt expandable by routing.

BUT this "knight/peasant" thing did change this, these units are now affected by peasants routing which wasnt the case prior:
-The Fay Enchantress (doesnt have the "knight" trait)
-Prophetress + Damsel (both dont have the "knight" trait)
-Battle Pilgrims and the RoR (its now a peasant, wasnt expandable)
-Foot Squires and its RoR (its now a peasant, wasnt expandable)
-Mounted Yeomen + ranged version (for some reason didnt have expandable prior, but is now a peasant)
-Field Trebuchet and Blessed version (now a peasant, wasnt expandable)
-and the all mightly Battle Relique now also gets affected by peasants routing

I think this is a massive oversight...

That’s what I think as well.
As now it’s valuable changes they claimed in their video of 3.1, but soon as you actually look the details they don’t mention, in practice it’s a nerf.
Peasants can’t always have knights around, and even there +2or3 moral pts is not that big of a buff.
But for all others situations, you could certainly face very easy mass routings if you are not careful where before with buffs & items peasants could hold (barely).
In practice it’s a situational nerf (certainly in tricky situations where you endure unfavourable odds), but like bretonnia was already such an underperforming race in wh3, I tend to feel there is a reason for that.
And we should see them getting an upgrade or new units in update 6.0 with Slaneesh where these needs make sense.
Where they take the 6months to come to get feedbacks from their present tweaks of bretonnia.

That would be sensed.
The other option is much worse tho.
It’s a disguised nerf on a faction already quite weak in wh3 setting.
And even if it’s always possible they did that, it feels more logical there are units and/or new mechanics to come that justify the nerfs of basic stats for peasants.
So, just a feeling, but I tend to also think its the reason and it would make sense somehow.
Hoping for Bretonnia it’s actually that…
Or I will start to think CA really doesn’t like bretonnia lol.

CA just tried to mimick TT knights & peasants mechanics.

There is no reason to be confused. Bretonnia is supposed to be carried by its knights.

But the knights wont be affected when Pilgrims and the like rout.

I suppose it makes sense Damsels are a bit more soft-hearted than knights and take pity of routing peasants.

nerfed? bretonia is off the charts
Isn't reducing the splash attack a buff for the relique since now having its' damage spread equally between 2 entities instead of 4 would result in it killing those entities faster

I just finished a VH/VH brett campaign as our favorite desert lady and they had a tough start buy late game economy really took off. I imagine with blessing of our lady being +15 ward save bretts are going to be outright nasty.

There are some paladins with +5 ward save meaning they will land at +30 once they walk down the skill tree.
