How to Counter Tzeentch automatic ambush/teleport?
I was thinking of starting a multiplayer game with one of my friends and was considering Tzeetch. But due to that faction's automatic ambush mechanic when using teleport I was wondering if we would have to make some ground rules so it would not be unfair.

Assuming both players are humans and not AI, is there anyway for a human being to defeat tzeentch's autoambush? To make it worse if you really advance into their tech tree it is possible to make their teleport movement completely free without any winds of magic drain.

You could try using your ambush, you hide yourself from the map and if not revealed, you should be safe.

It definitely needs tweaks along the whole Tzeentch faction, Hopefully we will see some good changes in summer with the DLC

On a side note of this issue, I have a newbie question: what's Tzeentch's autoambush? I mean, I played Vilitch and I know their armies could teleport. Can they teleport "onto" enemy and thus ambush him? Or is it only Kairos who is capable of it?

Their teleport triggers an ambush, yes.
Pretty sure they only thing you can do about is not beeing targetable (ambush stance) or having an ambush resistant army comp, like lots of monsters or cav with little ranged or arty.

Thank you for replying. I was thinking along the same lines in that you'd need an army that simply is able to survive an ambush. Lots of fast moving melee units that can respond and reform in the first few seconds of the battle. Basically give up on arty units unless it is something like a steam tank that fights as well as shoot.

I personally find many of the Tzeentch mechanics as unfun and intellectually lazy as anything in any game.

Forcing war and freezing enemy armies are fine and kinda thematic. Teleport insta-ambushing anyone while there is no defense whatsoever and magically taking an entire city in the context of this sort of game is just a grief mechanic. Not fun. Not “challenging”. Just designed to cause the player grief.

when heading into Tzeentch's territory, use armies that don't mind if they get 'bushed.. a melee-focused army with single entities and no artillery, for example
