Why can i not colonise this ruined settlement? (A bug?)

The option to colonise is greyed out. I have the funds, and full movement points so i was wondering if it might be a bug? I had hoped to colonise it and then give it to Carcassone faction so that Couronne sticks more to the north so it can keep the sea raiders at bay.

Could the reason be that the site has no direct land connection to my empire?

Nop, unrelated.

You indeed have the funds.
There's also no trace of Beastmen herdstone / bloodground.

Dunno, maybe a known bug.

Could also be bcs former Bretonnian province are too filthy and corrupted by Ze Lady that no one wants to hear about it ;)

It looks like something to do with the herdstone affecting the neighboring regions-might be bugged since that region you are trying to colonize doesnt look like part of a blood ground but the game might consider it that

Could be, the region is obviously quite heavily chaos corrupted, so...
Again, maybe a known issue. There's a list of those somewhere, could be worth having a look.

Actually, Bordeleaux got a Beastman mark on it, and since Aquitaine is right next to it, it may be as you said Iceman.

Edit : But since Borderleaux is in GS's hands, I'm a bit puzzled.

Yup.

It's really hard to see in the picture but it's there (little red sun looking thing by the climate).

OP you need to find the herd stone nearby, kill it, then you can colonize it.

Thanks for clearing that one up guys by the way. And yes there were beastmen in the area i hadnt spotted yet.
