I do know that the southern Chaos Dwarf (just can't remember his name, Draz-something or other) and Astrogath have the caravans pausing right next to their respective capitals. Same with Goldtooth at his capital in the mountains.
Might be an idea to start up a quick cathay campaign to see where the caravans go, should give you a good idea where to be to intercept them.
On a side note: Cathayan caravans give lots of gold, but CD convoys just give the battle rewards, not sure if that is intentional.
Got it; and thanks!
I've never ran into Convoys; I guess it's largely because I've pretty much played Empire, HE, and Bretonnia mainly for WH3.
They tend to stick to destruction aligned settlements, mostly up north in the chaos wastes. Though they go as far as Naggarond and Arkhan's capital in the desert. There is one destination near Altdorf though: the minor dwarf settlement that shares the province with Kemmler's starting position (just to the west of helmgart, Karak Ziflin I believe).
Got it; I will keep my eye open for them. In fact, I may play Thorgrim next, so I might run into them more frequently, if I do so.
