If You Have Trouble With Kislev, Do This
I see a lot of "I'm struggling with Kislev threads."

The solution is simple: build light war sleds and only light war sleds. The solution to all things Kislev is "light war sled."

Ya'll can thank me later.

But that requires engaging in micromanagement and a lot of people in this fanbase can't do anything else other than stand there and shoot

What micro? Just set them on skirmish mode.

Bad suggestion. War Sleds have incredible low ranged dps. A unit of Horse Archers have a higher damage output with better range. The only advantage of the sleds is that they are a bit more accurate and much more durable(hard to lose models).

If you want your sleds to pull their weight and earn their spot in the army, they need to get into melee.

As for tips for using Kislev. The regular Armoured Kossars can deal with most threats and can hold up enemies long enough for support to arrive either in the form of magic, cavalry(or sleds) or flanking Streltsi.

Ya'll can thank me later.

Last time I tried Light War Sleds they were fine if I wanted to fight every battle but were pretty micro intensive and were terrible in auto resolve so you had to fight anything where there was chance you would get attacked on the next turn.

They are probably Kislev's best unit against VC so for all those Vlad OP threads they are a letit answer but beyond that I feel that normally I have better options.

This is the same guy who seriously insists in every thread that reaver archers are the best HE unit for Eltharion. It's just a clown farmer, ignore and move on.

Sure, you can do that, if you wanna spend 30 minutes in every battle whittling down the enemy army. Run from every double army or waagh, take cities with attrition because you can't actually take a city and generally be useless in all non-standard engagements.

Kislev, unlike most factions with hybrid units, actually have decent hybrid units, don't be afraid to throw your armored kossars in to melee in early game fights. Your Ice Guard are also not as worthless in melee as SoA. The Ice mages of Kislev have the most destructive blob-killer spell in the game, corral the enemy into a blob and use it.

There are definitely better options but I've had 2-3 sleds tear through at least 5-6 units. LOS issues are a big deal in this game so maybe I just got lucky with the maps though. The units were demons and chaos warriors btw so I actually have a high appreciation for the sleds.

I can concur that a pile of 6 or 7 Armored Kossars and 9 regular Kossars is going to get you very, very far with Kislev. And that Heart of Winter is absolutely devastating, particularly when overcast. Note that, as it isn't a Wind, Bombardment, or a Vortex, it doesn't damage your own units (like Soul Stealer and Final Transmutation). Go ahead and drop it on an ongoing melee brawl. Watch things evaporate.

Edit: and research the tech Pirate's Weapons very, very early! it's nuts!

Or not use boring stat padded doomstacking boredom armies

Light War Sleds can be used as chariots too. Incredibly versatile unit. In MP, common Kislev strat is hordes of war sleds as well.

Armored Kossars aren't as good because in a tough 20 vs 20 fight they'll take damage. And then the next 20 stack shows up and then you're in trouble. Light War Sleds DON'T TAKE DAMAGE in 20 vs 20 fights, which means they're fresh for the next immediate fight.

Is this sad boring lazy cowardly stat way of playing just remind you of Command and Conquer when you just built 50 mammoth tanks and rolled over everything
