Once you have that area secured, sail to Bretonnia and go kill Grom
Nowhere does it say you must do both. If you do wanna go badlands, don't take the first settlement you see, go up and take the one further up and deal with Wurzag first. If he gets 2 armies with waaghs coming at you (which he will sooner or later) you're in deep ♥♥♥♥. You'll also be saving Barak Varr and can gain an ally in the region. Also, if you go south more you'll meet 2 other hostile factions. Khorne and Beastmen and since Wurzag will attack you soon, you have 4 enemies who are all attacking you. It's much better to take Ekrund first and establish yourself there because it's a 4 settlement province so it will grow much faster, giving you access to good mistwalkers sooner.
I hold that main province two reasons, staying in the doughnut and keeping trade open with other HE. And 2 to keep the steady build of income with being able to h lock new units
I think a blitzkreg tactic of attacking the minor orc faction and hold the main settlement to just build up his main army with. A mage and hero
Trade doesn't work like that anymore. You can trade with anyone at anytime from anywhere. Yes, Imrik isn't completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over anymore either.
He gets wiped out pretty fast sometimes so don't bet on that. You don't start with a settlement there at all so you could just... walk over there, take Queeks home settlement and go from there LOL.
I’ll try this out and see what I can do :)
Or go to Darklands north of him and take out Craventail, the whole of darklands should be green provinces for Eltharion.
Don't need to do anything, just forced march there.
