Let's Put the Price of "Shadows of Change" DLC in Perspective
I wanted to take a moment to address the recent discussions surrounding the price of the "Shadows of Change" DLC, which is currently priced at $25. It seems like there's been quite a bit of debate and even frustration regarding this, and I'd like to offer a different perspective on the matter.
Firstly, Creative Assembly has consistently delivered high-quality content for the Total War: Warhammer series. The base games and previous DLCs have provided countless hours of enjoyment for many of us. It's essential to acknowledge the value they've provided over the years.
Now, let's look at what the "Shadows of Change" DLC brings to the table. It includes new lords, units, mechanics, and a unique campaign experience. Considering the depth and breadth of content, $25 is a reasonable price. When you break it down, it's often less than the cost of going to a movie or dining out for an evening, and the entertainment value you get from the DLC can be substantial.
Furthermore, it's essential to understand that creating quality content, especially for a game as complex as Total War: Warhammer, is a costly endeavor. Game development involves a dedicated team, countless hours of work, and ongoing support. Charging for DLC helps fund future updates and improvements to the game.
Also, no one is forced to buy this DLC. Total War: Warhammer remains fully playable without it. If you feel the content doesn't justify the price, you can always wait for a sale or opt not to purchase it.
Let's remember that game development is a business, and developers need to cover their costs and make a profit to continue delivering the content we love. Instead of focusing on the price, let's continue to support Creative Assembly for their dedication to this fantastic franchise.

Sure, yeah, your point is a fair one.

The bad thing is... look, many people don't want to understand your point, they just don't care and go with the flow, attacking or insulting the company and their "CA simps" as they please.

The "point" is "bro just don't care about the price, buy it anyway to support the company"

How is that NOT simping?

CA provided quality content during Warhammer 2.

However, Warhammer 3 has seen a significant, notable drop in the quality of content.

SoC provides roughly the same level of content as the lord packs in Warhammer 2, when you take into account that they generally came with FLC lords.

SoC costs significantly more than the lord packs in Warhammer 2, well beyond what can be explained with increased costs etc particularly due to the aforementioned drop in quality.

So no. It's not just a matter of people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the price, it's the issues surrounding it. The idea that we should just accept paying more for a worse game is idiotic; CA NEEDS to be held accountable. If they want to keep charging the higher amount that's fine, but they need to convince people that it's worth their money. Right now, it pretty clearly isn't when you compare it to what has been done previously.

Good lord at this point your continued defense is just sad and deflated. Or it reads that way, kind of like the current gameplay videos, the narrator seems bored and just wants you to buy the dlc and not ask any questions.

I don't know why it bothers you to read my posts, I'm realistic while you guys... I don't know what you're trying to achieve, maybe more drama and trolling.

Idk the continued defense of this company just irks me ig. I don't care about the drama or trolling. I love this game and currently it's not in a ideal position that's deserving of any defense.

how can a dlc, wich has the content of like 1/4 of paraho cost half the price of it? the dlc dosent come with a new map. most of the framework is already in the game,
Paraho has a new map, units features ect ect, still only 60? either Paraho should cost more, or the dlc is overpriced. and i think its the latter, 17-18 dollars would be max to me.

its not about not being able to buy it, its about them not being fair with the price, overpricing content just caouse its total war warhammer.

If you like the game, don't listen to what they say or let them manipulate you to despise the company because it's not your problem, no one is forcing you to buy the DLC, it's your decision though if you want to wait for the discount or not buy the DLC. You are free, you should not be in the troll group for confirmation bias.

I love the game. That's why I turned my postive review into a negative one, because after, i believe, it was patch 1.3 and the workshops release and I believed this game was running in the right direction so it seemed like the right tbing to do.

But since then they have been introducing more and more bugs and issues, subjective issues most of them, they had my trust and lost it. Lately with the price increase, lack of fixes, lack of general improvements, lack of real factions updates, and lack of optimized and real fixes. They've lost my trust and funding, plan and simple.

I haven't bought chorfs and only got COC through a giveaway, wouldn't have bought it otherwise.

If a majority of people have to wait for a product to be on a 50% sale, it is not a good product. Plain a simple for ya lil guy :steamhappy:
Carog the Fat Aug 26, 2023 @ 10:32pm
lets put it in context a lord pack was less than half the price before and I personally would buy those to get one lord normally and the units for that race I liked, changing to 3 lords/races means, If there is only one race I like in the DLC, the price has gone from £8 for one part of the DLC I will use to £20 for one part of the DLC I will use. That is not a price i am interested in paying.
