What skills and technologies can a beginner turn to for the lord? Is there a site where we can look at such things?
I played total war warhammer 2, now I just started 3. This problem has always existed for me. Every time I start a campaign with a lord, I can never decide which skills to give, which army units are strong, and which technology will be the most useful for me. I know even a lord has a lot of different gameplay, but I'd like a guide to at least warm up to the game. Is there a site or steam guide to help players like me? As with Moba and MMORPG games, I want it to show me at least one build.

Movement range (like the first blue pick) is always useful.

Red line you may have to choose between either buffing your low tier units (if you're having issues early game) or thinking ahead and choosing the skill for the high tier units.
Sometimes you might have red line skills that buff both low and high tier units.

Yellow line is more situational depending on specific (legendary) lords or heroes and what you're going to do with them.

Thanks, this is good for me to understand a little more.

In WH3 you get 49 skill points (in Vanilla) so you can get most things you want.
Blue line is great for movement speed, attrition reduction, replenishment, ligtning strike.
Red one buff those units you want to use in your end game army.
yellow line is good if you just want to make you lord 1 man army ( I usually leave this line for the last)
And unique line you usually want that if you want to play into strength of your selected legenary lord.

But everything is situational.
Like Lightning strike, it's great if you want to have 1 really strong army that fights multiple stacks in 1 turn. great against greenskins as lightning strike eliminates waaagh units from battle. But playing as gobbos you don't usually really need it all that much. Or as Skaven who ambush there it is also not really necessary.

Really depends on what you want to play and how.
