Fix. The. Ranged AI.
How long is it going to take before you "people" get around to fixing how the game treats ranged.

The LOS issues and disorganised nature of how unit cohesion works makes it a nightmare still to rely on ranged firing lines. All it takes is one model out of order or clipping the corner at a bad angle and suddenly blocked.


Mannfred is on a GIANT BLOODY TERRORGHEIST 10 yards in front of a line of handgunners...but somehow they cant see him and are blocked because he is squatting on a unit of swordsman? Wulfrik, on a mammoth, apparently cant be LOS by crossbows despite the fact he absolutely towers over everything.

You cant "hide" a giant model in human sized units. You couldnt in the tabletop either.

I am so sick of this garbage.

Its a pretty simple logic.

If the unit youre trying to shoot is larger than the unit "blocking" them then you should still have LOS. A troll is twice the height of a man. A Dragon is certainly massive.

Monster/Monstrous SHOULDNT be targettable if theres another Monstrous or Monster unit in front but if a unit of Trolls is attacking swordsmen then how does a marksman not have an angle to shoot?

How is this not logic?

Game is becoming more centric on Lords and Elite units and it sucks the fun out of it. Devs so caught up in how cool it is that a Legendary Lord can one shot an entire army they forgot that Warhammer Fantasy Battles was about larger unit formations and strategy.

I would find it comforting if the LOS issues were by design. But honestly I think they are just having issues solving it.

honestly I don't really see how they'd have a hard time finding it, neither of the earlier game had this issue, so they could just compare the LOS mechanics between games and adjust accordingly if that's really the case

ranged always been a bit tricky, never been a fan of how its done-too low range, too low ammo, fetigue makes zero sense for ammo amount (so i can fight for an hour at 70% energy but i can't magically shoot without arrows? honestly thats more realistic then you fighting above 15% for an hour even fighting useless scrubs just hitting drains you out after that long).

mod makes your unit "weight" less importance on whether or nor a friendly might be hit so they don't stop shooting bc 1 out of 100 can't los hit or something dumb.

it works very well with higher unit mobs (2x,3x unit mods) and i have just made a mod to increase all ranges for all lords units to compensated, which seems to work extremely well but i haven't testet them enough to public them; will happen today if they don't have issues (just didnt have a vanilla game of current version to test on; so i am going through one now today, made it yesterday and was too tired to test much^^)

(honestly if you want realism you should run 2-300, as even a human can throw a javelin near 100, world record is 104.80).
meaning you know that 30 meter aura radius; yer a human jav thrower can throw 3x That range, a bow can shoot 9x that range NO PROB, a gun loaded with crappy ammo, no railing, powered by crappy mixed blackpowder and shot from a non rifling handmade metal stick and front loaded shoots like 50m or something at any precision and killing power, they are crap. cannons are a bit diff as brute force will quickly solve the situation of a 20kilo bowling ball going through you at incredibly deadly speed and therefore force
(but early gunpowder guns are actually way worse than old weapons like bows, jav, etc. in every aspect EXCEPT breaking through full plate army).

It's bad. But don't be all you "people". Post the next day when you are calm. If you curse people out, they only push back.

We played a PvP campaign over the weekend and didn't get a single bug - we had handgunners murdering trolls over (poor doomed) swords in melee, just as Sigmar decreed. But at the same time... no-one was willing to play Skaven because we can't trust Ratlings to do anything but melee.

It's bad. Point it out. Don't be mean about it, though. They're real people trying their best. And if nothing else, post things that they'll listen to, and not immediately reject because it's abusive.

What any proper Speis Muhrine would, rush in to glorious meilee wombat with Chainswords.
