What are you tips for playing Vilitch the Curseling?

What sort of things do you wish you had known from the start? I'm New to this race/faction and so learning on the fly, only 5 turns in.

It looks like I can give 3 chaos spawn to an enemy army or my own. Why would I give them to an enemy? Can I take control of them or something?

You don't get to control them, the idea is that if they had a very good stack you could (potentially) turn 3 of there good units into chaos spawn instead.

Thanks, so can I choose which units get replaced? Like swapping them in to make Chaos Dwarfs not have their Quake mortar things is would be good

Giving Vilitch another lord tagging along after him helps him siphon more XP to level them up faster and they can get quite strong at higher levels.
