If you left click and select a spell, you can right click to get off the selected spell. If you have selected a spell and accidentally started casting, if the spell is out of range and the character is moving within range, you can select the character to move away to try to cancel the action. If they’re casting, you can try to activate a different ability to cancel the action. Otherwise live with the consequences of the mistake you made, odds are it isn’t critical.

Actually right click just opens the spell list for me it doesn't cancel anything

Right click IF you've selected that spell to cast but haven't picked a target

If you try to cast another spell it will cancel it. Sadly there is no way to choose to just cancel it.

yea just select another spell or ability and it should stop the previous one

Will the "halt" command cancel?

It doesn't and in reality it should stop everything, spell casting included.

The only working solution is as referred above to start casting another spell.
