GPU for this game
What graphics card do you all use for this game and whats the results?

I am thinking of getting a new PC with a Ryzen 5800X3D and a 3070 or 3070 ti

I did play this game on my Ryzen 7 1700 (yes, about 6-7 years old) + RTX 2070 Super for hundrets of hours. Yes, it felt heavy, but was ok: The Benchmark for a fight was 91 FPS in average. The Benchmark's result for campaign map was 35 FPS. (Still playable actually) Settings weren't ultra, but still mostly high.

I've upgraded to an RTX 4080 and ended up with 48 FPS on the campaign map.

I've upgraded to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D (plus my RTX 4080) and that made the difference! The campaign benchmark now runs with 95 FPS on ultra settings.

Extra tipp: When buying the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, buy a decent cooler! This thing is really producing a lot of heat! I'm having a Dark Rock Pro 4 which does the trick, while it's smaller brother Dark Rock 4 couldn't deal with this much heat, wherefore the CPU throttled.

Don't forget Res and settings are important.
Some people are happy with medium and boast high FPS compared to someone who needs high/ultra.

If any use. (Ultra for comparison but I play a mixed bag of high/ultra and cap at 60 to keep temps down a bit)

And second the good cooler call from Caileak.

3060, with r9 5900, 16gb ram(asus laptop). More or less max settings at 1080p, pretty solid 55-58fps.

For what it’s worth, this game barely utilizes the proc but is certainly bottlenecked by my gpu(as far as going beyond 1080p is concerned), ie ya what thinking of bit lower spec proc but better card in general than 3060, bet get some great performance maybe even at 2k with some lowered effects etc

30xx series have around 60 to 80 FPS resolution is the factor that will impact it the most.

don't let people spend your money for nothing WH3 ain't a shooter 40 FPS is more then enough to enjoy the game

Ancient computer like my still push beyond 40 FPS

6800XT @ 3440x1440, battles are around 50-60 fps ultra, a few spikes up but mostly down lol. Campaign 10-15 fps less (most AAA's are 90-100 fps ultra for comparison, well... the ones where the devs bothered with optimisation anyway)
Tweaking is a thing, not much gains 20 fps easily for little lost. Likewise capping, mitigates range and frequency of under load fps drops, again with little loss... this kind of game/genre is fine down to 30-45 fps as long as it's stable.

You have multiple options for the turn times. Normal, fast, faster animations, or fast forward. Someone who does fast forward will always have faster turn times than me, who watches it on normal speed, because i´m interested in how the AI behaves. I only set it to faster for allies, because then i see all their movement, which could be a bit too slow even for my taste.

I'm running it plenty fine with a 1070. Sure, putting two armies worth of zombies into a massive meatball rave tanks fps to hell, but I think that'd happen no matter the card.

I have my ol 2070 super, combined with i7 8700 & 32 gb ram. A 2017/18-pc in other words. Specs are balanced and have used it for years now, but the age is showing.

Getting about the perfomance I except in 1080p, hovering around 50-60 fps depending on whats happening. No AA & shadows down to perfomance along with stuff like ssao & vignette off but the rest on max and ofc ultra unit scale.

R5 5600X Radeon 6700 stock.

Settings are set automatically to ultra and I've only adjusted minor things like no unit fading(for screenshots). Runs at 60FPS in battles. Only issue is the IE campaign map performance. But given the size of it, I can forgive it.

The games hideous, everything looks off. It’s pixellated even in ultra and high, it’s blurry on the maps, the portraits are laughably bad too
