Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs pricing
Hey everyone, I've been seeing a lot of discussion around the price of Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs here, so I just wanted to chime in.

Even though as a lowly CM the inner workings of the business side of things are WAY above my head, I know for a fact that pricing decisions aren't made lightly and there's a whole load of different factors that are taken into account when making them. We have faith that what you're going to get from Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs is well worth the price, and we're going to show you as much as we can over the next few weeks to help you make the right choice for yourself when it launches. The devs have been pouring every ounce of their passion and talent into making this DLC freaking awesome and we want you to see that!

We'll also be holding a dev AMA on the Total War Discord server (https://discord.gg/totalwar) toward the end of the month so you'll be able to ask whatever questions you may have about the content.

I haven't bought any DLC for the game 3 just because of the amount of bugs and the sorry state of the sieges. Patch 3.0 has to be amazing to make me spend more money on this game because right now, as it just feels like a money crab before getting Three Kingdoms treatment. The slower the main game gets fixed the more me and other customers are incentivized to wait for sale.

Chaos dwarfs are my mostly awaited faction to be added and the trailer seems great, but offering less and increasing the pricing at same time doesn't seem like sustainable way forward.

I don't really care about pricing. An extra $7.50 does not matter to me if the content is good. When you're paying rent, etc. it's does not even make a dent. Especially since cost of living across the board is going up. I find it funny people are quick to complain about a DLC price hike but not the price of eggs, etc. at the grocery store.

Anyway, I really hope this DLC comes with a patch to fix ranged units. Right now they do not fire. They either stand in place or charge the enemy (even on guard mode). This never happened in warhammer 2 and takes the fun out of empire, skaven, etc.

theres a reason if your range units arent shooting. Cause mine are working. Guns needs to have line of sight, bows do not.

the fact that you have to set up a meeting to try and BS the price tag to us is really telling.

Half of a base game, for a single faction? (and another campaign that no one will play)
What a joke.

I am right there with you. I need to see that the base game is going to get fixed first. To many bugs and the AI is still a jerk who just wants to dog pile you as soon as they meet you.

To be fair, all their food and fuel prices have gone up as well. I'm guessing from the $45 dollar figure you're quoting you're also in one of the countries that have been hit hard by Steam changing their regional pricing rates.

All the Best,

Welsh Dragon.

Why would we pay such a high price for a DLC?
To thank you for providing us with a great game?
Well, think again! In its current condition, the game is a failure.
Get your act together, listen to your player base, and maybe, maybe, we'll spend our money on your DLC.

Lol, calling for DLC every 1-2 months... people already complain about 20$ almost 8 months after IE released and you want 10-20$ DLCs every 2 months?

Take what ever you think it is worth , For me 1 race for ½ the price of whole game is not worth it , I will buy it in a year or 2 when it is on sale , Tbh i thinking of giving up on 3 all together , finding the new siege and all the faction mechanics a tad tossed in there with out any plan , The old saying "kill the darling " should have been used. For me TW2 have a nicer map, Both Vortex and the big boy .

I was for sure going to pick up WH3 once chaos dwarfs released buuut seeing this huge price increase for what appears to be a bit less AND knowing how many bugs are still in the game I think I'll pass, at least for some time. Not trying to troll or anything, this is just my honest opinion as a consumer that this feels kind of scummy from CA, and this is coming from someone who has sunk hundreds of hours into WH2, but not thousands or anything so I guess I'm maybe a mid-level consumer/player. Just my two cents but CA needs to right their ship - meaning releasing products that are not terribly broken, fixing huge issues in a timely manner not months and months after release, and finally not gouging their player base with higher prices.

The main problem with the 30 Euros cost is very simple. Because the game is still in quite frankly, a broken state. Right now for example i am playing Norsca. And one of my main faction mechanics (The hunts) is broken. It doesnt work. Its not a minor thing, this is a faction mechanic.

"Well, this is probably a weird bug, probably new" i think... And then i go to search for fixes and find that the faction mechanic has been broken for SEVEN MONTHS at least. Thats seven months for a main faction mechanic.

So, now we are expected to fork out more cash, for a DLC, while playing a broken game, fixes for which are coming out a a glacial pace? Thats just silly. Especially since the new faction/heroes are most likely going to release broken too.

People are willing to lay down money if they know they are going to get a product that is of quality. But with TW:WH3 the ball has been dropped heavily. So people are less willing to spend more money, for what they KNOW will be a broken product.

What 30€ cost...
