Pause Button?

I know its a long shot and maybe a dumb question... but does this game have a pause? So you can issue orders? I know WC3 and SC2 dont but I dont feel like they need them. I tried TotalWar2 and was so overwhelmed... I am curious if they added a pause type feature in this one for us old folks who just want to play casually with a drink in hand.

They all pause and allow you to issue commands. I put it on the space bar.

We’re you trying to play with battle realism on? Basically the only way you don’t get the pause button.

Pause and slow mo, i played a lot of my battles in slow mode.. still do in big battles. Actually might be in the minority but i think slow mode should almost be as slow as the battles should be by default maybe i'm just getting old.

Sure does pause, up to Very Hard battle difficulty! (No Legendary cheevos to my name ) I play using my XB gamepad, so pause function is a must for me!

go to game settings, deslect "game realism" and pause will work allowing you to make changes duing a battle.

There is an option when setting up the game, if battle realism is ticked you cannot pause also legendary difficulty is no pause by default i think, I only play on VH/VH
