Do the Tomb Kings suck in WH3?
Did my first TK campaign in WH3 with Settra and I am doing significantly worse in all of the battles than I did in WH2 with Settra. I'm honestly wondering if they need a balance update or maybe since i havent played TK in almost a year its just me. Do you guys think TK needs some battle buffs?

You can bonuce back with the Incanation of tahoth.

Also it would be great if CA LOOKED AT buffing the carrion units if they haven't done so already.

Yeah but im just talking about the battles. Im doing much worse in the battles in WH3, taking alot more casualties. For example Repanse had an army with like 12 archers, i thought i was going to demolish it, but they were all fire archers and i lost like 5 units completely. With any other race i would have demolished that army but i also realize TK is weak to fire. But its just been a struggle in every battle basically lol

idk about if their units in battle were nerfed, but tomb king wh3 economy is juiced compared to warhammer 2. you also get ushabti at tier 2-3 instead of 3-4.

you also can use outposts to get high quality units outside of your unit caps.

tomb kings got a lot of love in wh3.

I haven't really been using ushabti, maybe thats my problem, i have like 6-8 provinces and only one ushabti building

I remembered in WH2 being able to win all of my early battles basically just using archers and a couple of casket of souls with a spear line infront. So i tried that approach at first and that didnt work at all. Im using "Alarayans Tier 4 minor settlement" mod for the better garrisons, so i rushed growth buildings first, like i do with every other race.

Basically a rule of thumb is every stack you get up and running make sure it has every type of hero in it or atleast 2 out of 3, ready to go, you can look into caster syngery with unit composition in army's aswell and what type of constrcuts work best with a defence army or rush based comp,(TK rush army's don't really get going until T3 last time I played anyway)

What lore do you go for for your casters? I was thinking Nekahara for the physical resist spell to throw on constructs.

Due to the change of settlement buildings you can field much earlier good units. 1 vs 1 is still unfavorable for TK armies, but if you dogpile it is easier.

The leadship nerf leads to a situation where hero leadership auras a very important. Item like the crown of command or the icon of rulership help. Light Magic Liche Priests are also help with the "unbreakable" spell.

I had a fun campaing with Khalida and sat on pile of 50,000 gold with 5,000 income in turn 80. The economy is really busted now.

Depends but I don't think you can go wrong with Nek generally, light might suit if your army has little to no mobility which TK can do and choose to play around sep stalkers and bow ushabti, net would come in handy. Whatever you choose make sure to unlock a decent amount of spells first(1 point them) so you have more tools in your toolbox, your shooting yourself in the foot if you only decide to unlock 1-2 spells and max them.

The traits as you probably know on the heros are really important, wise for lichs, extra ranks to recruit on units for tomb prince(or make them tougher in battle with stat traits if you want) and for nerco's I think its best practice to only choose traits which increase extra ushabti or sep stalkers caps, these are much faster to acquire and will be your bread and butter. though the whole campaign.
