Is Immortal Empires Too...-Big?
I know that IE is meant to be this grand world-spanning campaign, but imho it feels too big, especially since there's no teleportation options for most factions.

Am I the only one who would really enjoy some smaller-scaled and thought-out scenarios where factions felt as more than just number x out of 30x to kill?

I think its fine the way it is. The best part of this sandbox mode is that you can decide for yourself when you are done with a campaign. Also the short campaign victory tends to be pretty well balanced for smaller scale.

Translation: WH3 requires powerful hardware to run that majority of customers cant afford due to covid and bitcoin mining pushing hardware prices up.
That's what I think he's getting at.

Which is nonsense. I'm playing the game with the exact same pc I played WH2 with and it is absolutely fine.

How did you get anything from that barf of random text?
Kudos though.

OP
Small stuff is good too but it's fair to say the majority like the big sandbox.
Personally I like both. To mix up and keep fresher.

The bigger, the better imo.
It’s sandbox anyway. No one is forced to paint the map and fight on every continents.
And ts great there is such variety and the possibility to do so.
And lorewise it gives that feeling of a huge planet, hope of many races and factions.
They did the right choice.
And in fact I wouldn’t mind more size, including all far south east (Ind and so on), Nippon far east, and the all steppes north of the Great Wall of Cathay to be playable as well.
That would be epic…
Bigger is better, as long as the game manage it performance wise, it’s the best the game can offer and it should be even bigger with new DLCs.

I remember back 15years ago in Rome 1 TW how I would have killed to get the Roman Empire and Europe in a bigger scale, now we have it for WH and it’s just great.
It gives that feeling of vastness of the all world, and that’s just how it should be !

Btw, have you checked new map changes for incoming Chorfs DLC ?
It just look epic… 🤤
Give me more of that CA, please ! Lol

Maybe ME is more the sweet spot for you, and not IE.

Yes. You are. CA has tried that in the past and it does not work. It's a waste of development time.

No...

Not really, but what would be great would be more customisation options. Having different start positions for various lords would be a start, some randomizers could also help to spice things up. Wouldn't hurt as an option, and would help the player to create their own whacky campaigns.

I tend to look at it as a sandbox. I think for sure if you carry out every campaign through to a long victory or world conquest or whatever, then yeah, I can see how the size would be a slog. But as others have said the short victory options are locally focused. Once I get to the point where I'm big enough to swat anyone who declares war, and it's just a matter of pumping out enough armies to keep up with the expanding fronts, I tend to lose interest and look into another campaign

I don't think the sandbox mode is too big--it lives up to its name and thats what we expected. But I also would like to see some smaller campaign maps or DLC. Playing through the Beastmen and Wild Elves DLC on WH1 and really like the variety they add to WH1. I don't get the same feeling from the Ogres or Chaos Champions DLC. They add factions but not different play modes as in WH1 and 2 DLC, for me at least.
