Do people stop at Short, Long, or Domination victory?
I was curious, as I generally stop after Short Victory, but the new Achievements demand Domination victories. I've never played a campaign that long - and frankly I never intend to. So how many people are the new Achievements actually serving? For many, it seems as if CA had done nothing.

This is utterly atrocious. I only got back into the game after 4.0 because of the achievements, how the hell are they requiring us to attack 272 settlements... I stop a little after short victory. After this point the game becomes a slog, multiple samey battles on the same turn, dozens of stacks... just boring

Long, and if i like the Race or the lord, i'll go for Domination or painting the Map.

This was the exact feeling I had.

How long do Long victories usually take anyways?

So let me get this right: you're complaining an achievement actually requires effort to achieve?

One definition of achievement: a thing done successfully with effort, skill, or courage.

By the way you can set the end-game crisis to trigger before turn 100, defeating that also unlocks the achievement.

Depends on how much fun and time do I have. I aim to finish at Long Victory and I believe achievements should trigger at this point too. Forcing player to conquer everything to get them quite bad, it's very tedious and boring at this point... Also, it seldom makes sense, why would Kislev want to raze or sack Cathy, Empire and all of the High Elves...?

When I want to quickly check new things I usually stop around short victory, maybe before that. I would be fine with not getting achievement for that, but I wouldn't oppose getting it either

Current Gen of gamers would have never made it through the 80s and 90s.

Besides the endgmae crisis, how is autoresolving 272 settlements considererd skill or any sort of effort ?

Lategame in TWW is probably the most boring ♥♥♥♥ in the entire game, especially if you have to fight for example the dwarf with 100+ settlements, autoresolving through his 20+ full stacks.

I get bored way to quickly with wh3. in wh2 i got around 150/200 ish and in wh3 turn 50/75 ish. Avelorn used to be my go to faction for longer play troughs but now i just clear donut and quit. In wh2 i had that addictive just one more turn which would spiral down to long nights it was great. Wh3 just doenst do it, it feels tedious and worse in almost all regards.

80s/90s games and early 2000 games were actually fun and difficult and required skill or effort to achive anything, be it just the last level on X game.

None of that applies to TWW lategame. The AI is too retarded to be of any real threat for a half decent player and atleast you'd lose some random units while autoresolving compared to annihilating the AI army with basically 0 loses.

I usually play for around 150-180 turns.

In Wh2 I used to play until the long victory. In fact, it was a goal of mine to reach the long victory on VH with every race at least once. In 3, I've been getting the Long Victory but stopping sometime before the endgame victory with a few exceptions. Looks like I'll be playing the endgame more now with the achievements.

Good thing you can customize which endgame you get to make it a little easier (I hate the Dwarfs endgame)

Should either be for a short victory or at the most a long victory. I play this game like hell but there's no way I am sitting through a domination victory for any race other than my favourite.
