Range Units refusing to Shoot
Since patch 4.0 + Hotfix Ranged Units completly refuse to shoot at targets. Lords - Nothing -Line of Sight is clear and i even tested it with a full ranged stack where they did not even fire a single shot when the enemy army was rushing them.

Flat land. No mods. Won't fire at will. Game issue, not me.

Have you tried to "fix local files" using the tool in the steam library ?
Something's clearly wrong with your own version of the game.

It's the game. All my friends who play have the same issue. The game is just a buggy as hell game.

In my experience ranged units have been finicky since they started playing around with the targeting priorities to conserve ammo on higher difficulties. Have not played on the post recent patch but have observed this behavior on previous patches with Kesliv and a few other factions.

Took you a year and a half to press the hold position button ?.. Dude i dont think you can blame the game for that one.
They're members of the Union of Ranged Shooters, Old World Chapter.

The Union Agreement specifically states: No shooting on lunch breaks, coffee breaks, statutory holidays. Any shooting past regular working hours is considered double overtime.

I noticed that crossbowmen were firing much slower than they used to. It seems their reload speed is ~10 seconds without bonuses. Wasn't their a fix a while ago for empire and dwarf ranged units firing much faster than they were supposed to? This is probably related to that.

Absolutely no issues with range units, did a range heavy Mother Ostankya and very range heavy DE endgame crisis victories all done in 4.0 and range units behaved like normal.
Stop attributing made up bugs to 4.0 when there is real bugs that need to be fixed.

Nope. It's a very real bug. All my friends agree and see it as well.

Iron cranes seem to fire fine to me in that video. It's just the player ordering them (the AI in this case) is really bad at managing them.

Only ranged bug I've noticed so far, is ranged units running forward when their shots are obstructed by large targets such as cavalry engaging the target in melee from the same direction as the projectiles.

OP this is usually a problem with a mod, if you're using any mods that change animations, i would start there.

I also noticed that units with fire at will will pick their own targets and disobey orders, which was never a thing before this patch. Even with fire at will on, you could tell them where to shoot and they would stick with the target.

Did you see that they stop firing when Myiao goes dragon form? Then trying to "flank" her?
come on

Again, that's the person controlling them being dumb and giving them move orders. The unit itself fires just fine in that video when it is told to do so.

Haven't observed this myself. My ranged units keep shooting what I tell them to shoot unless they're set to guard mode and it moves out of their range.

While the thing he mentions before is also annoying. Even more so when it´s a dead unit, but it immediately reminds me of units ignoring movement or attack orders, because one model got somehow stuck. Any player input should always have priority, so even if it wasn´t about the dead model - all models which are able to move somewhere, should do that. And there in the example of course not get some mortis engine effect because some dead unit lies around somewhere, as the majority of the unit itself is elsewhere...

Also You know something is wrong with the AI, when 4 AI ranged units only have one possible target to shoot at, all have line of sight because of flying target - and instead of doing that - they move somewhere else. Hilarious. Just sad for those who would like to enjoy the game or in his case simply test some units, which then do things which make no sense at all, and destroy the test...
