Norton threat detected for WH3.exe? No valid digital signature?
Anyone else encounter this with today's update?

My guy, you should get rid of Norton asap. This has nothing to do with WH3: Norton is practically a McAfee. All it does is slow down your PC, may aswell be malware itself.

I admit my knowledge on Norton might be a bit outdated, but the last *many* times I had to deal with Norton while fixing people's PC's it was more of a hinderance than a help and in some cases it *was* the problem.

Norton is crapped on by people all the time, but consistently ranks very high every year for malware detection. Kaspersky is great, but shady Russian ownership.

I've been playing Total War games since Shogun 1 and never had this show up via Norton until today. Not with any Wh1-2 content, or WH3...until just now. Just thought it was interesting.

A large number of boycotters have reported WH3.exe as a threat.

Fair enough, just food for thought. Might be a bit knee-jerky, but is all from experience.

The last time I could say for sure I found Norton helpful was like 20 years ago when it was Symantec. Back then it was pretty great.

Lol Norton... just like Denuvo it's pretty much malware that will tank performance.

AVAST is free, takes less system resources, and since using it in 2018ish I have NEVER gotten a virus or malware.

All Antivirus is a scam, none of them are going to prevent a dumb user from getting infected, the best thing you do is to educate yourself on how to use a computer securely and uninstall that crap snake oil software slowing down your PC.

The only thing I trust to do it's job and not be bloatware is common sense to prevent 99% and Malwarebytes to catch the rest (clean install in worst cases). ♥♥♥♥ Norton and McAfee with extreme prejudice, they are instant uninstalls as they may as well be any of those dime a dozen spyware/adware fake-antivirus. Avast has gotten to be so ♥♥♥♥ with hoggin CPU as well I stopped suggesting it to others in favor of just sticking with Windows Defender. Everything else is just not worth it.

It's funny how you keep going around reporting everyone who falls for your bait tactics while simultaneously breaking forums rules like this "pat myself on the back for a witty response" that I bet you feel good about. I asked for genuine help, and you're provoking me. Go shill somewhere else.

As for everyone else...I have 2 kids, so as much as you came here to crap on Norton (and I don't totally disagree that I *personally* may not need it), I need network protection from tween link clicking, lol.

At this point I'm starting to believe that the guy is a sentient malware himself.

About your issue did Norton specify which file has an invalid signature?

Lol, Norton is pretty damn good now. And it only slows your PC down if you are running it on a potato, so yea.
