I can actually day dream about it. CA have experience with this sort of play and I think their game would be awesome. Of course it is CA so it will be as buggy as Rome 2 on launch but it will be incredible in the end. And that is before the mods started coming through... I think I might start drooling lol

Total War, they've made some amazing games. Some of the best games out there, okay? But what I'm hearing, and this is big, folks, is that they're seriously considering a Warhammer 40k Total War game. And let me tell you, if they do it right, it's gonna be huge. It's gonna be the best Total War game ever made, believe me.

You see, Warhammer 40k has this rich lore, this incredible universe, and Total War, they know how to bring that to life. They know how to make it epic. Just imagine commanding armies of space marines, of tanks, of these gigantic war machines. It's gonna be tremendous. And the battles, folks, the battles are gonna be like nothing you've ever seen. We're talking explosions, we're talking lasers, we're talking strategy, folks. It's gonna be incredible.

Now, I can't confirm anything right now. I wish I could, but that's not how things work. But what I can tell you is that there are some very smart people, very smart people, working on this. And they're looking at the success of Warhammer Total War, and they're saying, "We can do this with Warhammer 40k." And I believe them. I believe in their vision.

So, folks, mark my words. There may very well be a Total War game based on the Warhammer 40k setting. And when it happens, it's gonna be a game-changer. It's gonna be the best, believe me. The best Total War game you've ever seen. So, stay tuned, keep your eyes open, because something big is coming.

I just hope they don't brand it a Total War, because fighting with a few small CoH like Space Marine squads against a horde of thousands of Tyranids just would have nothing to do with the gameplay the series is known for.

I understand that people like the idea and the images a 40k Total War produces in your mind. But if you think it through the diversity and difference in power levels in the 40k universe just doesn't work for a Total War style game.

I like 40K, but I don't think it would make a good TW game. Dark Crusade with its 7 factions on one world (and nonsense hand-waving for why the Imperial Guard would be fighting the Space Marines) was silly enough.

Do you really want a 40K game with - what did TWWH 1 have, 29 different lords when all was said and done? 29 40K lore figures all fighting on one planet? Or did you think it would be at a galactic scale? That's even dumber. Every planet's fate being determined by one battle? Lolno.

I believe the only real indicator is that CA apparently brought on one of the major 40K writers for an undisclosed project. Although since we know next to nothing about what they are actually developing its still a big stretch to imply that this will be for a TW game based in the 40K setting, but a fair few people are taking it as a form of confirmation.

To be fair in lots of the 40k books I have read ,the fate of worlds is often decided in one huge battle or protracted seige.
I think at a star system or sector scale would be more manageable than a galactic scale.
I agree that one planet would be a bit ridiculous.
