The game and DLC have been top Steam sellers all month and will likely get a big bump upon release day.
It happened with past DLCs. I'm sure there's a good bit of people waiting till it officially release before buying.
I don think it is ambitious.
My prediction is that Wh3 Dlc will be top3 best sellers and also 6th on the Rock Paper Shotgun fanmade list of best Dlcs of all times.
RPS reader polls have nothing on the extremely credible user reviews over at Metacritic. Especially with a whopping 341 total reviews split about evenly down the middle between 9/10 and 0/1!
And I don't care about people crying and demanding that this DLC be made cheaper.
The issues won't be solved by cheaper DLC, the issue is the game is cut up into tiny bits. Its like going into Subway they advertise that their new sub is coming out. But unlike older versions of the sub where you paid $10 and got the whole sandwich. This sub's now montenize like Sega, they charge you $10 for a sub, but instead of getting a full sandwich, you only get the bread for that price, then there is a meat DLC, a lettuce DLC, a tomato DLC, a Sauce DLC, a cheese DLC. And without the meat and veggies the sub isn't that good, and while the lettuce would improve the sub, its not worth the $3 add-on. Especially when the Tomato DLC only cost $1.5. And the Cheese DLC is moldy. And salt and Pepper really should have just been an option from the start not a 1 dollar upsell.
So instead of going in thinking you're getting a $10 sub, you end up spending $30 for it. When last time around it was $10 and you didn't have to feel like you're missing out on anything.
Oh, and also the bread is also not ready for when you receive it. It needs to be cooked a bit longer.
Everything will go out the window the second CA does a sale and the spineless wabbitors mark it down as a victory and buy it anyways.
Comparing a meal to a video game as a product that offers thousands of hours of replay... zzzzz
