Playing with friend that has a WH2

I wonder if I could play with my friend if I installed only the TWWH3 (but I already have WH1 and WH2 too) while he has only the WH2 game (without the rest).

Your game plays differently than wh2 and you don't have access to the vortex or ME map in 3 so at best you'd be able to play custom battles.

some units have different stats in warhammer 3, so even the normal rosters wont match. so this still would not work.

Okay, thank y'all for the answers. Though isn't it like that I can choose to play only with WH2 module so it matches with my friends game mode only? Because as far as I understand it, If I have all the parts of TWWH, then I can choose the mode (only WH1, only WH2 etc.). Isn't it like that?

I will find this out in few weeks myself, and I'll give the answer for future generations here. However let me know if you already tried such thing.

no, you can play either the TWWH3 specific story campaigns or the TWWH3 specific immortal empires campaign. the only reason to have the prior games is to access the factions that those games launched with, when you play the immortal empires campaign

warhammer 3 has "realms of chaos campaign" and "immortal empires campaign"
you can't play the warhammer 2 campaigns in warhammer 3 lol, no, its not... thats not how hard drive space works, my guy

Okay, chill. I thought that if I have all these fractions and there is possibility to play "vortex campaign" then there is also the possibility to play with somebody who has WH2. And yes, you can play WH2 campaign in WH3 if you already have WH2 (it works as a DLC). Nevertheless I now know why guys before you said that it's impossible, I played WH3 a bit and now it's all clear.

No, if you want to play with WH2 with your friend you are going to have install Warhammer 2. Do you also expect to be able to play multiplayer matches of Halo Infinite with some one who owns Halo 5?

Nah, but if all these games connect with each other in one way or another, then I ask questions to get to know what it could bring to the table. Also as I said many times before, I have WH2 so this is not the case you're talking about. Thank you for your answer too though.

It's about carrying over old content, the games don't literally connect together.
