AI battle difficulty modifiers
What differences are there in the battle AI these days in Total Warhammer 3? I've got about 2k hours in game 2, but only ~200 in game 3, and I know they changed stuff so that in 3, the artillery dodging might just be on Legendary, but otherwise I'm pretty out of the loop. I remember seeing that AI ranged units got better at prioritizing your ranged units, and saw that cavalry was better at cycle charging and flanking. Also noticed high mass units tend to pierce formations more often. Is that true, or something I imagined? Not sure if this information is presented when you fire up a campaign, or if it's something you have to be in the know about for whatever reason either, so apologies if its something I could find myself without trouble. I tried googling for the answer, and found a lot of random threads but nothing that just lays it out.

That all sounds right, the AI missiles being better at prioritising units, the charging etc. The artillery dodging I don't find too bad on Vh/Vh, might not be there, might have just not really come up. The spell dodging is real though, you gotta time things just right. Best time to use them is when frontlines blob up.

Skirmishing is broken in 3. The reactions aren't fast enough. Works okay sometimes, but not most times. Have to skirmish manually.

Certain artillery in 3 play fast and loose when it comes to enemies engaged with your frontline, they have to be carefully managed.

3's battle difficulty modifiers have felt about the same, except when doing vanilla settlement battles. A unit of goblins will fight like heroes till the end on VH, makes every city battle extra sloggy. Also means in vanilla when you defend a town you can pull some serious BS with chokepoints.

Kinda random but darkshards aren't useless anymore. I recall them being huge underperformers in 2.
